Opening Commissions Again

This time I'll be opening a cue with a limited number of slots. I don't suspect I'll need it, given the last time I was open I didn't have to turn anyone down as I only received the one request, but it's always nice to have a system in place should it be necessary.

As a reminder, my price is $0.015 per word. That's a penny and a half, not 15 cents. So if you were to ask me to do 1000 words, the price would be $15. If I go over, I eat the cost, not you, and I'm prone to going at least a bit over. For an idea of what a certain number of words looks like, Business, Plain and Simple is just over 4,000 and my most recent commissioned work (as of this post) is just over 10,000.

Contentwise, I don't scare easy. Extreme kinks are a specialty. However, I am better at certain things than I am others. Feel free to ask if what you're after is in my wheelhouse before committing to anything.

In regards to my workflow, any commission below 5000 words you can expect delivery on the draft within 2 weeks. Add a week for every thousand after that up to three (for a total of 5 weeks of turnaround for projects up to 10,000 words). For works 5000 words or greater I accept half up front and half after completion. For works smaller than 5000 words, I take full payment up front. Any time between my receiving your (first) payment, you may make requests for changes to your original idea as long as they aren't too major. After the delivery of the draft you may only request minor changes. If you request a larger change the same day I send the draft before I send it, I will accept those changes in my editing process.

I'll be opening 2 cues. The first for commissions up to 5000 words. For this cue I'll be opening up three slots. Once we're finished discussing your commission and I've completed anyone ahead of you in the cue, I'll send the invoice for payment. The second, for 5000 and above, will only have one slot. After I clear the first cue, I will send the first invoice.

I will also be opening up 2 waiting lists. No one will be moved from either waiting list to either cue until I have fully emptied out both cues. I may also close commissions and empty the lists when I do. I cannot commit to getting around to these lists, only a spot in the cue guarantees you will be able to commission work from me. But adding your name to the list gives you a better chance of getting on the cue in the event all the slots are filled.

Feel free to voice any questions or concerns in the comments.

Thank you,
Fenton
