So my Inkbunny account finally gets some use

by
Five months ago, Char threw me here to Inkbunny for the sake of finding more imagery to upload onto AGNPH. Quite obviously, I was too lazy to follow up on that.

However, now I feel that I can give my account proper use. It occurs to me that upon more scrutinizing inspection that this website is pretty damn awesome. Everyone here appears to be friendly, and the attitude here is far more relaxed.

To those annoyed by my uploading, I do apologize, I had actually been trying to find if this place has any flooding policy, but to no avail, so, I ended up just assuming that it's an upload as much as you want thing.

This does lead me to my one little gripe about this site. The uploader. The uploader fails quite easily (I've had it crash on imagery that only totals up to 1 megabyte, though, normally it'll die on imagery that is at least 3 megabytes in size). It'd be nice if I could supply imagery without having to scale it down (I shall never succumb to the JPEG menace unless absolutely necessary! I just see those artifacts too easily!), but all in all, I doubt people are going to care too much if my imagery is 1280*960 or 2560*1920, I could always get external hosting if necessary.
But, again, this gripe is minor, considering the amount of activity this site has been getting in recent times, it could very well just be the server struggling under the load.

All in all, this site is pretty awesome and I highly regret not being active earlier!

I send a package of greets combined inside a multimegamedia presentation that is packed under 4 kilobytes to those of whom have been paying attention to me here thus far, you've all been wonderful!

Tried doing a bulk submission upload? I've enabled the feature on your account if you want to give it a go. And yes, right now it's all cylinders go, since we don't really focus so much on recent uploads on the front page anyway.

Oh! Thank you very much! I had actually been considering applying for it earlier... but... ended up deciding that I'd probably be too much of an obstruction if I asked, heh.

I'll have to try it out at some point, but I am admittedly very worried that it'll experience the exact same upload crashes as the individual uploads.

It's possible. Try a different browser? I've honestly never had that problem, but I know some who have.

The only other browser I have on here is Internet Explorer, I guess I should launch that and infest my PC with millions of virus's see if it works better than Google Chrome.

Also, the Bulk Uploader also snaps like a twig, just as easily as the standard one.

I'd also like to note that the standard uploader keeps making duplicate entries for every time it retries an upload, often leading up to three blank submissions that I need to delete manually.

It is worth noting that I have a 1500/384 kilobits connection speed, via an ADSL connection. I am located in Australia near Melbourne. I get an average ping of 345 milliseconds when pinging the inkbunny.net domain name via the default configuration of the Windows command prompt ping command.

I've had issues uploading to websites via HTTP uploaders (Such as to YouTube, and on some lesser occasions, Archive.org) before when the connection is busy, but I can also fully reassure you that every time I have uploaded to Inkbunny that my connection is not too busy (Barring some of the horrid rain we've had in recent times).

An alternate uploader would be nice (Such as what YouTube did with the Java based uploader), but I'm not really in the position to be asking things, and it does sort of make sense that the issue only affects a small amount of people.

Also, thanks for commenting. You're serving to boost my belief here that the staff are bloody awesome!
