I was wondering just what my stories would classify as, genre wise.
Pondered the subject before, but it wasn't until I saw someone categorize "120 Days of Sodom" by the Marquis' De Sade as "erotic fiction" that I suddenly found myself curious. Oh, and paralytic with laughter too.
A lot of people haven't ever heard of the "erotic romance" genre before, which you can read about here. That's certainly a part of it, despite the claim that certain themes aren't "accepted" by publishers -- we're talking about literary classification, not concerned with clearly arbitrary rules set up for the sake of political convenience.
Pfft, seriously. "It doesn't count because one of the characters wears a silly hat" makes just as much sense, but hey.
Tai's Story might be the strangest amalgamation of genres I've encountered - at least lately. I always say labels aren't worth the stock we put in them, but this still is an interesting thought exercise.
