Morenatsu

Just reinstalled it. Juuichi and Shin's routes are available and have been patched and debugged, but I'm gonna play through the other four routes again first BECAUSE HASUBANDOS.

I always seem to come back to Kyouji and Soutarou, though. Those are the two that interest me most of the group. Mostly because I want to know how they will be handled. They're presented in such a way that you assume they're already in a relationship. Will you wedge yourself into a 3-way relationship? Will you tear them apart to pursue one or the other? Is all of their homoerotic subtext just the developers teasing the players to make us think they're together?

I almost think they're going to go with the 3-way route because of the intro scene, where who you sit with at the restaurant determines who you develop a relationship with. Kyouji and Sotarou are always together, and during the scene at Raimon, you sit with both of them rather than one of the other.

Also, did you know that in Tastukii's route, you can punch Chuukichi naked during the festival?

[EDIT]

GAK! They made everyone's routes available no matter who you sit with at the beginning. I was blindsided by the multiple markers on the map after the restaurant scene X3

Morenatsu (lit: summer break), a Japanese bara/yaoi-genre furry visual novel. Although it does have porn scenes, the game makes the player work to get to them, and one wrong choice made while pursuing any given character, even a seemingly harmless choice, can close them off to you. So people just looking for porn would do better to look elsewhere.

Instead, what Morenatsu offers is story, romance, character growth, and organic relationship progression. If these things appeal to you, it's worth giving a try :P

Morenatsu has been in production for some 10 years now, but this is because after the initial release of the game, the project leader (Gamma-g) abandoned it and left everyone to organize it without him, and while it took them some time to recover from that, it seems as though they've managed. The initial release saw 2 of the 8/9 character routes completed, and new characters have been released in groups of 2 since (there are now 6 potential routes to choose). I say the devs have started recovering from the loss of the project lead because the gap between when the second and third sets of characters were released was much shorter than how long it was between when the first and second sets were. There will only be one or two more updates at this point (it's hard to say which, because of Kyouji and Soutarou X3)

If you're interested, I can give you the pertinent links to download the game, translate it, and get it running :3 You will need a torrent program, though

You can download the game here. This is the only step you'll need a torrent program for :P The rest doesn't require it. http://pinky.ceena.net/view.php?id=130505164710-190213...

From this next site, you'll need the files named "patch.xp3" and "HP pAppLoc.zip." I don't think the two sound files are necsarry. http://www.mediafire.com/WinterGreen

The rest is easy:
1) Unzip the game files to wherever you want the executable to execute from.
2) There are 2 files in the unzipped folder that might contain oddball characters in the name. These both need to be renamed "morenatsu" before the game will launch.
3) Move patch.xp3 to the folder you unzipped the game files to.
4) Install AppLocale and make sure both of the Japanese options are ticked (none of the rest of them are required). If the program fails, you'll need to alter your system locale manually.
4.1) If you have to change your locale (don't worry, it's a simple process, with no risk of system damage, and is easy to reverse), go to the control panel, then to region and language, and under the "Adminitrative" tab, click on "Change system locale" and select Japan. Don't worry, this won't cause all of your text to start showing up in Japanese X3
5) Once that's finished, just right click the game executable and click "Run with Japanese Locale." If you had to change your system locale, just launch the file as you normally would.

I reinstalled Morenatsu about three weeks ago, did Juuichi's line. Didn't get any help or whatnot, just did what seemed right, and I got the best ending... even if it didn't always seem it. I liked his storyline.

I was blindsided by the new event setup after the restaurant scene. I attempted to avoid doing Shin and/or Juuichi's events and focus on the other ones, but there were a couple points where I had to pick one of them X3 I have to say, I'm looking forward to doing Juuichi's route now :P
