*SPOILERS(?)

" What if during a genocide run, Toriel found out about all the people you've murdered?

What if she caught up to you, just into time to watch you murder Sans, and he turns to dust before her feet?

What if now, realizing she was wrong by unleashing you on the rest of the underground, that she has a responsibility for all the lives you're taken, and is DETERMINED to STOP YOU?

Even though I would actually never do a genocide run, this would make for quite the interesting and heart wrenching extra boss fight.

TOBY MAKE THIS HAPPEN!

Would be a cool boss to replace asgore pathetic little one in that run.

reading some of the lore in the game, IIRC humans are far more powerful, and that souls get stronger the more they have the desire to kill, at that point you are on a full rampage, so you a human physically overpower the more magical asgore, and kill in one hit with a real weapon. which is why the battle before him is considered the final boss of No mercy mode.

Would that would imply that you spared Toriel, and sparing 1 monster in the entire game ruins genocide run and reverts it to neutral run.

True, but if it were added as some sort of story enhancing DLC, i can see that as a special rule to unlock a true genocide run, considering you'd still have to kill her in the end.

Is what the community for the game calls when you choose to kill every single monster in the game. 3 types of endings, kill EVERY, kill stuff and spare stuff, spare everyone.

I'd try to spare everyone...

There is no try! You must if you want the super ultimate best ending! Never kill a single person! EVER! Because then you would make Toriel cry if you do.

NO MERCY SPOILERS BELOW

Sans, is a skeleton who talks in comic sans (hence his name) but, he has the ability (same with flowery) to somewhat retain information between 'timelines' (when you save and load a game) he is also shown to have the ability to teleport and has knowledge of RPG elements which most do not know about. he is also the one who is 'protecting' you once you leave the ruins and is said to be very lazy, but in the 'no mercy' (toby fox's name for genocide runs) he laughs off his promise saying sorry (to torial) for braking his promise, before fighting you and he is considered the hardest boss in the game due to his extremely unforgiving attacks which ignore invincibility frames, poison you (with a attacked called karma in the code) and even SKIPS parts of his battle to try and catch you off guard, he even attacks you while your selecting your attacks which can kill you during your turn.

Lol, after reading this I'm already playing the game, Nuetral or Pacifist.

That's what you're supposed to do, of course. Undertale isn't very subtle about that (or anything really.)

Ignoring its ham-fisted attempt at thoughtful morals, the game is like Elder Scrolls -- it simply isn't interesting if you kill off all the characters, since the bulk of the game's content, depth, and charm relies on them being alive to say funny things at you and give you stuff to do. The genocide run gets you a really stupid edgelord plot twist ending with a free cheap jump scare and consequences that span across new game plus.

In addition, since the game allows you to never kill anyone, the game is designed for every fight to be winnable at level 1, albeit as a puzzle boss fight. This means there is neither a short-term or a long-term benefit to killing anyone other than perhaps random encounters, and it exists simply as a big "fuck you" to scrubs who murder all NPC's they see. I guess the developers are old DND GM's.

Pretty much the only character that really deserves to die is Flowey, because he is a bad anime villain, but you inflict just as karmic a fate on him if you spare him too.

The character you name at the start of the game (canonically "Chara") is not the character you're playing as, whose name is Frisk. It's the first human to fall into the Underworld, who was pure evil and whose soul was (after a long journey) sitting in the bed of flowers your playable character falls in. Every time you kill an enemy, you submit a bit to Chara's evil soul, and that's what the level ups signify. Performing a genocide run reveals that Chara now fully controls / owns Frisk's soul.

Chara and Frisk look similar, and if you're a murderer, then they act similar too. This is why most characters go ahead and call Frisk by Chara's name for the majority of the game (including characters who know Chara.)

The creators want you to put your own name in, because 1. Chara controlling Frisk is parallel to you controlling Frisk and 2. the only way you'll know about any of this is if you actually are the murderous psychopath that the game would portray you to be through this mechanic.

Oh...well then. And what happens in a new game plus if you killed everyone in the last game?

This is actually my fave pic of all your Toriel pics I must say, got her figure very nicely and her strong emotional look like a determined motherly figure.

Very nice work :3

Actually, my first thought is if you do a Pacifist run after a Genocide, and the real final battle is you trying to restrain the possessing Chara while Toriel has to finish you off, part of your time encouraging her to put Chara down
