Birch In The Recording Studio by MaxDeGroot

Backing track source is unknown. Suffice it to say that I did not steal it. Originally written and recorded by Leonard Cohen.

-----
Birch explains about his attempt at a solo career after leaving Grizzly, Stoat, and Young.

-----
I had recorded this song previously, and as an experiment, added in the vocal harmonies which build with each chorus. I am especially proud of the descant in the last chorus. It has brought some listeners to tears. I revamped it for Birch, slightly, by running it through Melodyne to correct some pitch errors.

Every Sunday, my local radio switches playlists to one dedicated to worship. The other 6 days are more upbeat yet no doubt Christian.

Anyway, the original song had different lyrics (possibly the original lyrics) and was on the sunday playlist. That's the reason I knew the song when it started playing.

Leonard Cohen, who wrote the song, wrote over 100 different verses.

The ones used here were the most well known, and used in Shrek.
