Saturday

It's about 8:55 and I'm sitting on my front porch waiting for Raph to pick me up... for our umm date I guess is what we decided to call today. I still have absolutely no clue what we are going to do today, I asked and all I got was I would see. To be honest I'm slightly nervous, I've never ever have gone out on a date before. Suddenly I see your Red truck pull into my driveway and I hop up from the steps and walk over to the truck.

Getting out of your truck you walk towards me and give me a hug. I smile and wrap my arms around your sides.

"Good morning." You say and I laugh

"So you plan on telling me what we are going to be doing today."

"Nope" You say with a big smile and I frown.

"Seriously you still are keeping me in the dark on what we are doing today?"

"Yup, you will find out as we go." You say with a laugh and pull away walking back towards your truck.

Suddenly I hear a knock on the window coming from my house and I turn around to see my mom smiling and waving before giving me two thumbs up. I can feel myself blush bright red and she laughs before turning away to continue on the cleaning she was doing. I quickly get into the passenger seat of your truck before my mom decides to come outside.

"What was that all about?" You ask as soon as I get in and again I blush red.

"Her way of telling me have fun and so far she approves." I say and you laugh and I can feel myself blush even harder if that is even possibly.

"Hey that's nothing to get embarrassed about. I'm glad your mom approves of me so far, I'd like to prove to her that I'm going to treat you right." You say pulling me towards you to give me a hug, I hide my face in your chest before you pull away.

"So you ready?"

"Definitely!" I say with a huge smile.

Pulling out of my drive way, we drive for about 35 minutes before you pull up in front of the park. Getting out you walk over to my side and open the door for me. I smile and take your hand as I get out.

"So we are hanging out at the park today?"  I ask with a smile and push myself closer to you.

"Yeah, I love how peaceful it can be on Saturday mornings. Oh and this is just where we are starting."

We walk around the park for several minutes and you were right the park is peaceful in the morning and the scenery is beautiful. Suddenly you walk off the path we are on and pull me towards a huge maple tree. Where we sit down, leaning against the tree you pull me to sit right next to you and wrap your arm around my shoulders.

"So what is it that you like so much about maple trees." I ask out of curiosity. I grab your other free hand and tangle our fingers together.

"What makes you think that I like maple trees." You ask

"Well at school you took me straight to the maple tree when we left everyone at lunch and now of all the trees in the park you sat us specifically under this maple tree." I say with a smile and you laugh. Suddenly you sigh, your smile falls from your face, and I can feel your grip on me get slightly tighter.

"They remind me of my dad." You say real quietly. I am super confused, but I wait for you to continue, I give your hand a small squeeze to try and encourage you.

After a minute you turn your head away from me. I let go of your hand to grab your face and turn it back towards me, but what I see completely shocks me. There are tears dripping from your eyes.

"Raphie.." I say in a whisper and try wiping the tears away from your face. You grab my hand and smile, which makes my heart skip a beat.

"When I was little my dad would always bring me to this exact maple tree in the park. He made sure we would come here for at least an hour every single day he was home. Those memories I have of him I cherish greatly. Especially after he was gone."

"What happened?" I ask

"He worked for the United States Air Force. His fighter jet was shot down behind enemy lines. We were told the missile that hit him completely destroyed his jet. I was only 8 years old at the time, but I still remember so clearly getting the news. I cried and ended up running out of our house to come sit here in the park so I could be close to him. He loved me so much and I idolized him, he was my hero. Now I just hope that he would be proud of the young man I've become today."

"Raph I'm so sorry" I say trying to cling to you as much as I can to comfort you.

"I've never told any one about the maple tree thing. The story of how my dad died is very old news to the others, but I always just kept my maple tree memories between myself and my dad."

"Raphie thank you for sharing that with me. And I think your dad would have been very proud of who you are today." I say leaning my forehead against yours.

"Leo can I ask you something?"

"Of course."

"This upcoming Wednesday will be the 9th anniversary of my father being gone. Will you come visit him with me... Please?"

"I would love to." I say and you give me a sad smile.

"You're absolutely wonderful you know that?" You say and I can feel myself blushing like crazy.

Slowly I feel you start to lean closer to me and I can feel my whole body being pulled towards you. Suddenly your lips capture mine and it feels like a shock of electricity was exchanged through our bodies. You slowly pull away and I can see you studying my eyes, but what I see in yours takes my breath a way. I have never seen so much passion and fire in your eyes I gasp slightly. Again you lean forward and press your lips against mine but with much more intensity, I feel your tongue run across my bottom lip and it's shocking. I open my mouth just a little and I feel your tongue collide with mine and at first it was an odd feeling, but after that it felt amazing. I could feel myself getting hot and eventually I have to pull away so I can breath. I see you smile as you lean your forehead against mine, both of us are breathing hard. Finally you place one last quick, but soft, and passionate kiss on my lips before you check your phone to see what time it was. You stand up and offer me your hand to help me up which I take gratefully.

"Well are you ready to head to our next destination?" You ask and I smile

"And what is our next destination?" I ask teasingly moving closer to you and you laugh wrapping your arms around me.

"How does lunch sound?"

"Raph it's only like 10:30"

"Try 12:15." You say and I look at you completely shocked have we really been at the park that long. It sure doesn't feel like it.

We walk back to your truck and drive another 15 minutes to this little pizza shop called Jerry's Pizza. It's a nice looking building, the main colors being blue, green, and black it definitely looks like a comfy spot to eat. Walking in we seat ourselves and soon a waitress comes and takes our orders.

"I hope you like Pizza" You say and I smile.

"Are you kidding I love pizza!" I say and you laugh

"Good because this is the best pizza place in the area."

We talk about little things while we wait for our lunch to come. When our food does finally get to our table I can already tell just by looking and smelling the pizza that it is going to be super good and of course you were right this was definitely the best pizza in the area.

"So when will I have the chance to meet your dad and officially meet your mom?" You ask and I swallow the bite I just took.

"My mom you can meet whenever you would like, my dad on the other hand I honestly don't care what he thinks of you his opinion doesn't really matter to me." I say and I start to play with my food, but after you've been quiet for a minute I look up and see you are frowning.

"Why doesn't your dad's opinion matter?" You ask and suddenly I feel guilty especially because of what we just talked about in the park...

"Raph I don't mean to sound so childish about that. But honestly my dad and I have never seen eye to eye." I say and suddenly I feel your hand on mine and I look up at you and I can see your looking for further explanation.

"In truth my dad doesn't like me. In fact I'm pretty sure he wishes I was never born.."

"Leo don't say that no one could possibly wish that about their child." You say and I wish it were true but not in my situation.

"Raphie it is true especially when you get told that your nothing but a freak accident. My father is someone who tries to push me down in hopes that I just wont get back up. He is someone who looked me in the face on the first day of school and says there is no way you have plans because you've never had any friends and most likely never will because your a loser and a freak. The last part has always been the excuse of why I get picked on at my other schools and instead of helping me over come that he tells me I deserve to be picked on and be miserable. Honestly if I didn't have my loving and caring mother with me I probably would have killed myself years ago." I fall very quiet after my rant and I feel your grip tighten on my hand.

"Come on lets get out of here." You say standing up, pulling me with you. You pay the bill up front before we leave and we get back in your truck and just drive. We are both very quiet until you bring your truck to a stop in front of a forest and I'm certain that we are only like 20-30 minutes away from Aprils house. I continue to sit quietly because honestly I have no idea what to say at this point. Suddenly I feel you unbuckle my seat belt and pull me towards you so that I can lean against you.

"Leo do you still think about.... taking your life?" You ask in a whisper and finally I understand what is going on.

"No I don't." I say and snuggle closer to you.

"When was the last time you had a thought like that?"

"About two years ago."

"Why"

"Because I had gotten beat up by a group of the football players. For whatever reason I couldn't bring myself to defend me. I could have easily gotten rid of them, but I just couldn't do it. After that I honestly thought about killing myself, came close to actually trying to. I had rope and everything, but all I could keep thinking about was my mother."

"And now how do you feel?"

"I try to enjoy the little things and now this year my life feels some what complete. I found amazing friends and now I have you in my life."

"Leo I...I can't lose you..... I don't think I could handle losing someone else in my life that means so much to me."

"Raphie I promise you I'm not going anywhere." I say trying to get you to look at me and eventually I am successful. You lean down and give me a kiss and in that kiss I can feel your pain and worry and I feel awful that I scared you like that.

"I'm sorry to hear about your father Leo. You don't deserve that." you say and I smile giving you another quick kiss.

I bring my legs up and rest them on the truck seats allowing myself to relax against you. Slowly I feel myself start to dose off as you run your hand up and down my arm, eventually I do fall asleep.

"Hey sleepy head, you want to wake up for me I have one more place for us to go to today." you whisper in my ear and I feel myself start to smile.

I sit up and slide back over into the passenger seat. You don't drive us back towards the city, but instead stay close to the outskirts of the city, which I don't mind considering the scenery is beautiful. Finally we stop at a little building and I have to wonder where we are because there are no markings on the outside of the building. Getting out of the truck you lead me inside.

"I want you to meet my Sensei" You say and as I look around I realize this is a dojo. You lead me further inside the building and we come closer to the rat who has his back turned to us.

"Hello Raphael it is nice to see you and I see you brought a friend." The rat says and I'm impressed that he could sense both of us there.

"Yes Sensei I brought the Guy that April, Casey, Donnie, Mikey and I have been talking about during our lessons."

"Ahh yes I finally get to meet your new friend." The rat says finally turning around and seems to have a look of shock and confusion on his face. Which definitely confuses me, maybe I'm just seeing things.

"Master Splinter this is Leonardo and Leo this is my Master Splinter" You say and I smile reaching my hand out to shake his.

"Now here is a face I thought I would never see again and a name I thought would never touch my ears again." Splinter says and all I can do is stand here with a complete look of confusion on my face.

"Wait what I've never met you before."

"Yes we have Leonardo, you were very young at the time and most likely don't remember, but I am your original Sensei. I was the first to train you, then when you moved I sent one of my good friends with you to train you properly."

"Wait Sensei so your saying you already know Leo?" you say and I find myself clinging to you because I suddenly feel very over whelmed.

"Yes Raphael I do and Leonardo, welcome home." Splinter says and at this point I feel my legs give out and I start to fall to the ground but you catch me suddenly realizing how shocking this situation is on me. Splinter kneels down to the ground in front of me and pats my hand.

"Maybe now would be a good time to go home and talk to your mother about this. She will have the answers to your questions." Splinter says and I nod my head standing up and looking at you.

"Raph will you drive me home please?" I ask and you nod your head.

By now it is starting to get dark and after about a 45 minute drive home, the light in the sky is almost gone. You pull into my drive way and park your truck.

"Leo I'm sorry I had no idea." You say and I grab your hand

"This isn't your fault Raph, but would you mind coming inside with me? I don't want to do this alone." I ask and again you nod your head and follow me inside my house.

"Mom?!" I yell as I close the door behind us.

"What is it sweet heart?" My mom asks peaking her head out of the kitchen.

"We need to talk." I say as she comes out of the kitchen, she smiles when she sees Raph before looking towards me.

"About what?"

"Why you didn't tell me that this is the city I was born in and the fact that my original Sensei is less than an hours drive from here. The Sensei that helped me come to love the art I do." I say frantically and I see the smile fall from your face as realization hits you.

"Why don't you and Raphael come sit in the living room, so that we can discuss this." She says and we follow her into the living room. You and I sit on the couch and my mom sits in the chair across from us.

"Leonardo, I honestly didn't tell you because I couldn't find a way to tell you everything. It was difficult for me to sit down and explain to you that when you were little your father forced us to move for reasons I didn't understand until now. Leo I never wanted to hide it from you but it was hard for me to talk to you about this town that you never had the chance to know. And Sweety i'm truly so sorry that I didn't tell you and you had to find out on your own."

"I guess I just don't fully understand mom"

"I know this is where I always wanted you to grow up, because this is where I grew up. I know it's been rough on you not having a stable environment and I'm sorry Leo."

"I'm not mad mom, just overwhelmed with emotions."

"I know, but at least now I can promise you that this will be your permanent home. Especially considering recent events." My mom says slightly bitter towards the end

"Wait what recent events are making it so you stay here permanently." You say suddenly and I can tell my mom is getting ready to say something but I jump in before she can.

"Raph do you remember the day when we went out to the maple tree during lunch and I told you I would tell you what was going on another day."

"Yeah I do."

"Ok well it kind of has to do with that and I promise I will explain it to you one day here soon, but right now I'm still trying to come to terms with it myself. Ok?"

"Ok Leo, whenever your ready." you say and I smile leaning against you. The three of us sit in the living room for a few more minutes talking, before you stand up saying you should probably be getting home.

"Raphael it was nice meeting you and thank you for being there for my son" My mom says and I see you smile

"I wouldn't have to think twice about it." You say with a smile and after that I walk back outside with you towards your truck. By now it's completely dark out but I'm glad the lights came on when we walked out.

"Leo I'm sorry today didn't really go as planned." You say and I wrap my arms around your waist.

"Raph today was amazing." I say with a smile

"So you had fun."

"Yes I had fun and now I feel a whole lot closer to you." I say and you smile leaning down to give me a kiss.

"Well good night Leo." You say letting go and opening your door.

"Good night Raph. Will you text me when you get home?" I ask

"Of course I will." You say with a smile before hopping in your truck. Pulling out of my drive way you wave one last time and I let out a sigh.

I turn around and head back inside. Going upstairs I get ready for bed and finally when I get the text from you letting me know you got home safely, I climb into to bed. Today was definitely an interesting day, but I'm glad I had Raph to be there through everything. There is no one else in this world that I would have rather had with me today.....
