Friday:

Well as much as I wanted Friday to come quickly, I'm actually surprised that I enjoyed this week of school. I some how managed to find a group of friends where I just fit in as if I've known them forever. I really do like everyone here and so far that awkward 1st encounter with Raphael hasn't really happened again and we seem to get a long just fine. Although I am quickly realizing I have to be careful because I keep getting lost in his eyes. No matter how hard I try to not think about it, those golden brown eyes just completely capture my attention.

"Hello earth to Leo!" April says waiving her hand in front of my eyes.

"Oh, Hi April, sorry I was just lost in thought." If she new the thoughts I was thinking though she would laugh.

"It's ok, I was just trying to tell you the other's are coming over to my house after school to hang out you want to join?"

"Sure, sounds like fun. Where is everyone else?"

"Umm not sure, they may be stuck in the lunch line. Oh wait there is Raph." She says waiving her hand trying to get his attention, he see's us and makes his way over.

"Hi April, Hi Leo."

"Hi Raph" April and I say in unison which makes us laugh.

"Ok so Raph and Casey have football practice, but if your cool just hanging out here for a couple hours Leo you can follow me back to my house. It's kind of our normal routine every Friday, except we switch houses."

"Alright sounds good, I'll just text my mom and let her know."

"Yay, this should be perfect especially for our capture the flag race! This time we will have an even number!"

"You guys play capture the flag?"

"Yeah it's a lot of fun considering there is a whole forest behind my house! My Dad hides the flags and it pretty much becomes a race to see which team can find their flag first and make it back to the house."

"That definitely sounds like fun!"

"Trust me Leo you have no idea how competitive the game gets after like the 1st round." Raph says.

"Oh I think I can already picture it." I say with a smile.

Football Practice:

I'm looking to see who is open to throw the football to, I get ready to throw the ball but suddenly my mind wanders to Leo and before I know it my ass is on the ground.

"Dude Raph! I was wide open why didn't you throw the ball?"

"Sorry Duke I wasn't able to see you. Hey coach can we take a water break now, that was our 6th run in a row." I say trying to get off the subject that I just got tackled.

"Alright everyone take 3 minutes and then let's go at it again!"

I take off towards my bag and grab my water bottle. Casey plops down on the grass beside me, grabbing his water as well.

"So what's got you distracted?" Casey asks.

"Nothing."

"Oh don't give me that lie, I've known you since we were like 4 years old. Now spill it."

"Don't worry about it Casey."

"It wouldn't happen to have anything to do with a turtle name Leonardo now would it?" Casey says moving his eye brows.

"Just shut up Casey"

"So it does have something to do with Leo. You like him don't you?"

"You numb skull keep your voice down. I don't need the whole team to know."

"See so you were distracted." Casey says with a huge grin, he has known for a long time that Raph will date either a Guy or Girl.

"It doesn't really help that he is sitting less than 5 yards away from the field."

"Well at least you only slipped once."

"We still have the rest of practice to get through."

"Nah I think coach is getting ready to end practice because of the heat. Just watch in 5....4...3...2...1..."

"Alright guys we are done for today. Enjoy your weekend." coach yells.

"But coach we still have 45 minutes left." I say

"It's too hot right now, just be prepared to practice hard on Monday! We have our next game on Tuesday!"

I turn and look at Casey and he just gives me the look of I told you so. I just punched him in the arm and grabbed my stuff.

"So is it really that obvious that I like Leo?"

"Not really, it was actually just kind of a wild random guess, with a little bit of suspicion."

"Well as long as it's not clear as day that's a good thing."

"Why don't you partner up with him for capture the flag, that way you can spend some time alone with him"

"You know what Casey that might be the best idea you've had all day."

At Aprils House:

"Ok, I'm certain everyone understands the rules to Capture the flag. We just need to create teams now. Leo do you need any further explaining of the game before we start?"

"I think I've got it. Unless you have some weird spin to it"

"Nope just try not to get lost in the woods please."

"I'll go with Leo, I know these woods like the back of my hand and if he has questions I can answer them on the go." Raph says.

I have to smile at Raph's offer and I find I'm excited that Raph is my partner, but also slightly nervous. Hopefully this will be fun.

"Alright that will work."

"Mikey and I can be a team." Donnie says and I can see both of them start to fidget a little bit.

"Ok that leaves Casey and myself"

"Aww don't sound so bummed Red."

"Shut-Up Casey" April says with laugh and ends up intertwining her fingers with Casey's.

"Alright Dad can you start us off please?" April yells.

"Ok on my count. Ready... Set... GO!" April's dad yells and we all take off in separate directions.

Once we are in the woods, we slow down and start walking. I'm following Raph and so far it doesn't seem like he is in to big of a Rush.

"This is a little more laid back than I was expecting." I say and Raph just laughs.

"It's a little hot for one and two Aprils dad hides the flags harder and harder each year."

"I see."

"So trust me we want to take our time a little bit, what it really comes down to is who can get back to the house faster. The way it's set up is so we all find the flags around the same time or that's just how it always happens."

"Have you ever considered that April's dad doesn't actually place the flags until we are all close together."

"Actually out of all of our theories that one has never come up."

"Well now you have another idea" I say with a laugh and you just smile back at me.

"Alright Leo, so you have to tell me.. You play any sports?" you ask and I smile.

"Well not any school sponsored sports, but I practice ninjutsu. I just haven't found a new sensei yet, my old sensei used to travel with my family and I but he went back to Japan a couple years ago and since then I've just practiced on my own."

"Well I might be able to help with that. The others and myself have been also practicing ninjustu for years, in fact that's how we all met."

"Are you serious." I ask slightly shocked that the whole group practices the same art as I do.

"Yeah, I think you would like our sensei. Do you wield a weapon?"

"I chose the Katana's. You?"

"I love the twin Sais. Alright next question. Ever have a girl you really like?"

"Raph I told you I never had friends at my other schools." I say slightly nervous.. should I tell him I kind of prefer guys...

"I know but this is different."

"Well then no I guess not. What about you I'm certain the Captain of the football team has lot's of girls to pick from." I say in a sarcastic tone and you just laugh.

"Actually I've only ever dated two people. One was girl about 3 years ago and the other well.. was a guy I met outside school about two years ago, since then I've been just enjoying my friends company. I hope you don't find it awkward that you know I'll swing either direction.

"Hey doesn't bother me one bit, in fact I don't like girls at all. And before you ask no I've never had a guy I really like." My god I feel like I have butterflies, I have to calm down.

"well hey nothing wrong there." Don't get to excited Raph.

We walk a little farther and I'm enjoying Raph's company when suddenly I get this strange feeling that we are being followed. I stop and look behind us.

"Leo what's up."

"Who else has access to these woods Raph?"

"Ummm I'm not certain why?"

"Because I think we are being followed." I whisper

"Here follow me" You say grabbing my hand and running Obviously you could sense someone else as well.

We run until we reach a small rock wall and you brush aside some brush which hides a small cove. You pull me inside and the brush falls back into place.

"I'm certain they went this way." A familiar voice says but I can't place it.

"Remind me why we are doing this?"

"Because that new guy still hasn't figured out that he should not be making friends with certain people and now is the perfect time to grab him and make sure he does know."

"What's it matter if he makes friends with Raph and Casey, it doesn't do any harm."

"Casey doesn't matter. Raph on the other hand you know exactly why we don't want anyone like the new guy getting close with him."

I feel Raph tighten his grip on my hand, he must know these people and by the looks of it he is ready to beat the hell out of them. When he makes a move like he is going to step out of the cove, I pull back on his arm. He looks at me and I just shake my head. Eventually they are out of ear shot but we sit and wait a bit longer to make sure they don't loop back. Finally I hear Raph sigh.

"I'm going to ask you again Leo, who was it that gave you trouble on the first day of school and please don't tell me it was nothing."

"I think his name was like Justin." I say.

You sit down on the ground and I follow, neither of us really noticing that we are still holding hands.

"I'm sorry you had to hear that, actually I'm sorry you even have to go through this."

"Raph it's not your fault these guys are jerks."

"I know that, but I also know why they are targeting you...."

I sit back slightly confused

"Raph?" I just wait for you to give me an answer and you sigh..

"Leo, they are targeting you.... because... well... I kind of... umm... like you."

I feel my eyes go wide and I take a deep breath.

"Raph... I.."

"Look Leo I'm sorry, I understand you don't share the same feelings. I mean we've only known each other for a couple days, I just had to tell you so you know what's going on. Trust me I will not...."

"Raph shush for five seconds, You didn't let me finish. I don't think it really matters that we've known each other for a couple days, because I feel the same way."

You look up at me, slightly shocked and slightly relieved that I feel the same. Suddenly I become very aware of how close we are and I realize we are holding hands. I slowly start to pull back, but you tighten your grip on my hand and I decide to just relax.

"What do we do now Leo?" You ask quietly.

"Take things slow and get to know each other before we make any serious decisions." I say and you nod your head in agreement.

"Leo I won't let Justin and the others bother you."

"Raph don't you dare get yourself in trouble. Your team really depends on you." I say quickly before Raph gets any crazy ideas.

"I won't get in trouble I promise."

"Ok good, for now though I think we still have a flag to capture." I say and you start to laugh.

"Alright let's go."

We pick up our pace not worrying to much about where Justin and the others went, but more on finding our flag. About 10 minutes go by before we finally find the flags and it looks like all three are still there, which means we found them first. Raph grabs the flag and comes back to me quickly.

"Are you ready? The others won't be far behind."

I nod my head and you grab my hand again and we start running. You were right 30 seconds after we started going we heard April and Casey right behind us. Things slowly start to look familiar so I let go of your hand so we can run even faster. When we get back to the house we barely just finish before the others are right behind us.

"Alright, you guys got Lucky because Leo had beginners Luck. Bet you won't win the second round." Mikey says

"you are so on Mikey!" Raph says and I smile.

We take about an hour break which gives April's dad plenty of time to hide the flags a second time. Again we all take off into the woods, but this time when we slow to a walk you get real close and grab my hand again. I smile, Yes this has been a very good week and this school year I think is going to be a good one.
