The monsters that are inside our bodies, can be vanquished with the aid of a priest, some holy water, and an exorcism. The monsters in our minds can't. We have to vanquish them ourselves, or risk they take over our every thought and make us do horrible, unthinkable things. Yet with calm thinking and something to focus on, you'll be able to make it out of the dark and into a new light of life.
On large tropical island, a slowly growing town lives there. It contains the town, forest around and in in them, and a swampy marsh home to unique lives. Though none or more unique then the inhabitants who dominate most of this land. They're known as anthros, humans who are animal looking yet human in thinking and acting. For the most part at least, since there are some who are a bit more fine tune to their animalistic natures and will be more savage. None is more well know than Ripper Roo, an experiment gone wrong in trying to rapid evolve a mutilated kangaroo and turned into a insane hunting machine. Ripper Roo went completely off his rocker and found a life in an alcove above a water fall and attacked anyone or anything that came to close to his home.
After his defeat by Crash Bandicoot he found himself getting therapy and then went to school where he got a degree to become a therapist to aid others who could be suffering from mental problems or needs someone to help with their problems simply by talking and listening to them. After facing his enemy again, getting into the racing scene, Ripper Roo finally was able to somehow settle down with his enemies sister, Coco Bandicoot. Don't ask me how it happened, love sort of bloomed between these two like a lily pad opening up. They settled down and then had a child, a blue kangaroo whom they would name Margaret Bandoo, Rita for short. About a year and half later their second child was born, another kangaroo who's left arm was for some odd reason orange like his mothers while the rest of him was a grey color.
Ripper and Coco loved their children, supporting them in what they did and gave them what they need to have happy lives. Making sure they wouldn't learn about the evil scientist who helped create a large portion of the lives that live on this large island. Yet they never thought about that scientist after he had given up his evil ways and left the island for good, though they should have. What if this scientist worked on a second kangaroo experiment? One where he'd taken time to properly experiment on the said kangaroo before evolving it and wound up creating one of his most powerful monsters ever, but couldn't control it like the others. So it escaped and has found a simple life on the island, staying away from the town and communities, afraid he would be branded the monster he was turned into, or become the monster he fears. This other kangaroo was about to have his fears come true as he's forced out of his quiet forest home, the relaxing marshes, and go into the communities to look for food. Unable to find subtle food source he would eat the wild animals and after being watched devouring these simple animals branded him as a creator to be feared. All avoided him and stayed as far away as theyb could from the monster. This made him have to adapt to taking food from others by kidnapping them for food or to buy him food. His next victim wouldn't result in food but in the beginning of his nightmare.

Three friends were walking to one of their homes to have a slight meeting about a future protest to tearing down a large section of the forest. One was a tiger with white fur and black stripe, she wore a sports tank top and baggy pants. She was bit of a tom boy and one of the strongest students in her school, being the captain of the wrestling team.
"So are you sure you don't want me to handle any of the works you might get a little rough? I'll put them in a head lock and pin them to the ground before they can say their own name," the tiger spoke to her friends in a wanting town, having a desire to beat up the works who were messing up the ecosystem.
"Trish I appreciate your help but I don't want you going to jail because you dislocated someone's arm or broke their back or used an illegal move on them because they whispered slut into your ear," Rita replied in a slight tempered voice having denied her friend this privilege a few times before.
"Come on Rita, Trish will just show them we mean business and won't let anyone tread on us! Even if they have bulldozers, chainsaws, cranes, a wreaking ball or maybe-MMPH!" the third one, a possum with light brown fur and long dark blond hair was stopped short of finishing her sentence. She wore a shirt with large text that read, 'Save Our Forest' to show her support for her friend.
"Thank you Malissa, for reminding us of what we're going against. But that won't stop me from protesting and I'll make sure they don't harm another tree under my watch!" Rita spoke with confidence to her friends as they just about reached Malissa's home.
"YEAH! Let's save the ecosystem! Woooooo!" Malissa sounded really happy and a little over excited but it was her sweet personality that cheered up others.
"Okay once we get inside we'll get down to and work about-AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!" Rita screamed as she was interrupted.
Out of nowhere a tall red and black kangaroo grabbed Rita and started to hop away with her. He hopped quickly but as he tried to escape he didn't see the large tiger chasing behind him.
"Get back here you creep!" Trish ran fast and quickly reached up with the kangaroo and grabbed at his tail, pulling at it, forcing the kangaroo to drop Rita, who fell with an oof.
"Thanks Trish I'm glad you-TRISH NO!" Rita yelled at the tiger who had already pinned the kangaroo and was about to punch him in his face with her rather large fist.
"This is for trying to take my friend away and rape her!" Before Trish could deliver the blow Rita grabbed at Trish's arm and forced her friend to stand still. "What gives? He just abducted you and you don't want me to punch him?"
"Trish look at him, does he look dangerous?" Rita pointed out that the kangaroo was very skinny looking, his stomach was slightly en-caved, part of his rib cage be seen easily, his arms seem scrawny and weak like large sticks. His fur was missing a few patches and his eyes were slightly red and droopy from lack of sleep. His brown and yellow hair was dirty and filthy, with twigs and large chunk of it missing. He was shaking with both fear and hunger while the sound of a large grumble came from the kangaroo's stomach implying food hadn't been consumed in quiet some time.
"Let's bring him to Malissa's house and give him some food. He must be starving. Would you like some sir?" Rita asked in a calm voice trying to keep eye contact with her would be kidnapper.
Looking at Rita he spoke in a soft voice that sounded harsh from lack of water to drink. "Yes please, I would like that." Looking at the two ladies, Rita convinced Trish to get off of the kangaroo and helped picked him up. The three reunited with Malissa who was shocked to see the red kangaroo.
"Why are you two walking with him? Did he try to take you away? Did Trish beat up? Wow he looks terrible, he could use a burger or some eggs, or a pizza, maybe some chips? Does he do drugs? Is he homeless? Why are you bringing him into my house? What's going on? Oh and what's his name?" Malissa asked in rapid fire that it all sounded like a blur.
"Does she ever stop talking?" the kangaroo asked looking at Rita and Trish. Not getting an answer he sighed and looked at Malissa. "My name is Rusty, that's the only answer you'll get. Oh and I don't do drugs. So two questions answered."
"Thank you, I'm Malissa, the blue kangaroo is Margaret but we call her Rita, and the white tiger is Trish. So now that we know each other, why are you in my house?"
"We're going to feed him. He looks like he hasn't eaten a decent meal in a few days. So help me cook something up or he'll be sleeping underground."
"Yeah, okay, you aren't the best cook anyway Rita. You somehow made a salad taste terrible which I find near impossible." Trish teased as Malissa giggled.
"Shut up you two and help me get food for Rusty." Rita scolded her friends and started getting out the food. Trish and Malissa knew that Rita was like this because she didn't want to see someone nearly starving so after getting food, placing it on the table before cooking food. As they start to cook the food Rusty digs in and is rapidly all the food at once. Going mad by having bits and pieces of different food from the chips, to the sandwiches, and a pie that was made just yesterday.
"Now that we have your attention and you had some food to eat, can you tell us a few more things about yourself? It might help us help you." Rita spoke softly to Rusty hoping to not agitate him.
"I'm about five foot ten inches, I'm B positive, I live in the forest or sometimes the marsh, and I've been forced out of it recently by those construction workers who are planning for future development. I want to kill them." Rusty replied in an uncaring tone as he answered Rita's answers.
The trio looked at Rusty with mixed expression. He knew things about himself and lived in the forest. How did he know those things and how long did he live in the forest? Would he really get rid of those constructions works by means of murder?
Not wanting to keep the tension going Rita spoke up first. "Mhmm I see, but I don't think murder is a wise idea Rusty. So why don't we take that idea and put it in a trash bin? Then work on some other ideas."
"You can do whatever you want, my plan is to find a tree and sleep in it until I need to get food. That's my ultimate plan if you ask me," Rusty replied, about to take a bite out of an apple when Trish interrupted.
"How about when they need that tree you're sleeping in? Or the next one? Maybe your food supply will get ruined and you won't have anything healthy to eat anymore. How does your 'ultimate plan' sound now smart ass?"
Rusty stared at Trish and took a bite out of the apple looking away from her and not wanting to answer. Rita nudged Malissa to speak up and say something.
"Oh uh what do you like about being homeless?" Malissa asked getting an expression from Rita that basically said, 'NOT THAT STUPID!' and she got it. "Oh! If you want we can help you get your home back, it'll be really easy! Oh no it won't, it'll take a lot of work, some papers, getting our friends maybe a lot of signatures and a permission from the mayor or governor or who knows! But we'll get you home back and save your veggie farm or animal farm! BOTH OF THEM AND YOUR TREES AND-MMPH!"
Rusty grabbed at Malissa's mouth and closed it with his left hand. "Please shut up. I'll accept your help, if you stop talking so much!" Rusty was highly agitated by Malissa talking so much and at a rapid pace.
Rita and Trish fist bump knowing that Malissa was the main reason they kept her part of their team. She was really good at either getting others to leave or join them, as long as the pay out was not hearing her talk so much.
"Alright now if we're going to help get your home or tree back, you'll have to show us where you live. Then we'll talk about what action to take, make a plan, and then put the plan into action. Got it?" Rita asked to ensure that Rusty followed them.
"Sure, we go to my tree, you three help me beat them up or annoy them to death and I get in my tree and go to sleep. You three can do whatever after that." Rusty's reply wasn't what Rita wanted and she sighed as she rubbed her eyes.
"Hey stinky, why not just show us your home and we'll do the rest while you find some tree to sleep in. Got it?" Trish order Rusty and watched as he shuttered a little bit.
"Whatever you say, I'll take you to where I used to live. Please, do follow me if you will," Rusty spoke in a tone that sounded empty and forced. Like this was a horrible thing to say.
He stood up and started to walk outside when Rita, Trish, and Malissa followed him to his home. Rusty lead them into the forest and after an hour walk they started to hear voices from others and then found a bunch of people checking out the area, getting messurments and even roping off some parts of the forest for whatever reason. A few of the trees were either already chopped down or in the process of being brought down.
"This is horrible, what gruesome monster would do this?" Rita asked as the construction foreman, a beaver with dark brown fur, came up to the group to speak with them.
"Hello there, I hate to inform you but this is a private area, you'll have to leave our we'll call the authorities to escort you off our premiss," the foreman spoke to them as a good friend who was considerate. Rusty, had a different tone he decided to use.
"I want my home back, all of you to leave, and to stop this stupid construction!" Rusty ordered is tone deep and fierce. You could feel the fire in his voice with that short sentence.
"What my friend is trying to say is that, he's lived in this forest for a long time and he was recently asked to leave and he's not happy about that. I mean he's lived here for...how long was it again Rusty?" Rita asked trying to keep things calm between the two.
"Three long years. Three long years to be ruined by some dumb progress."
"Uh yeah three years and maybe you can find another place to do construction, mostly because this all seems far away from the town and other civilization, so I don't get the reason to build out this far." Rita continued a little stunned to hear that Rusty lived in the forest for three years.
"Sorry but we're privately owned and the owner wants us to use this plot of land to get supplies for future construction and then lay down foundation for new factories that will be build here in about...five to seven years.
"What?! No way! Who would want to build a factory in this place? It's barren, empty, void of intelligent life, and far away from everyone you could do whatever you want without any repercussion!"
"Which is why I love it! I don't get annoyed by anyone, I'm isolated from the world, and I can live my own life! Now please get off of my home!" Rusty was ready to shout at the foreman and give him a whopping.
"Alright I think I've heard enough along with given you enough time to leave. I'm sorry but I have to call the au-HEY!" Rusty grabbed at the mans phone and slammed it right into a tree trunk with ease. Pulling his right hand out leaving fill with some splinters and a bit of blood as he dropped the remains of the phone.
Looking directly at the man Rusty picked him up with his left hand and held him off the ground. "Now listen and listen well, if you don't give me my home back I'll put your head into that trunk and we'll see if it survives! Do you understand us?!" Rusty shouted when Trish grabbed at his arm and attempted to pull it down.
"Let go of him!" Trish demanded but Rusty ignored her and wouldn't lower his arm, while Trish tried to pull the arm down using pressure points to force Rusty to let go, Rita used her persuasion skills.
"Rusty please let him go! This isn't his fault, he's just forced to do this by his boss! Now put the foreman down and let's go. Please!"
"For what reason do I have to let go of this beaver, who'll just have more trees chopped down! A dam built to slowly stop the water flow, and make this a horrible place for anything to live in!"
"Because you aren't a monster!" Rita spoke those words to Rusty and in an instant his eyes went bright and he quickly let go of the beaver. He slowly turned around and faced Rita.
"You...don't think I'm a monster?" Those words seemed strange to Rusty, like someone was injecting him a poison they claimed to a flu medicine.
"If you harm or kill that man you will be. Yet you don't look like a killer, just a misunderstood kangaroo who wants his home back. I can help you get your home back and prove you aren't a monster. You just need to come with us, please." Rita stretched out her hand for Rusty to take.
Rusty looked at the hand and asked, "Do I have a choice?" His question was quickly answered as Rita nodded her head to inform Rusty he had options. "Okay...I'll take it." Grabbing at Rita's hand he followed her and her friends out of the construction zone, in a blissful mind set, created by those simple words.
Once the group was out of ear shout the beavers second cell phone rang. "This is Berry, how may I help you? Yes sir, the kangaroo was here. He's recently left the area. No he didn't kill anyone sir, though he was about too. We'll have security keep an eye out for him, we'll also track him to where ever he may try and hide. Until then the construction zone will be on high alert as your orders sir. Got it, thank you sir. Good day."
Once the group reached Malissa's house Trish and Malissa decided to stay behind and clean up the mess of food left behind, while Rita was to take Rusty to her home to give him a place to stay until they could figure out how to get his home back.
"Are you sure you want to do that? We might be able to get him into a homeless shelter, be much better than your house. Not that it's bad but...you know."
"Yes I do know Trish but he doesn't like being around others, which may suggest anti-socialism. You saw what Rusty did to that phone, and what he could have done to that beaver. Imagine if he gets mad in a homeless shelter, and no one can stop him? I don't want others to be harmed because he were trying to do the right thing"
"Alright Rita but don't get yourself in trouble or killed by you know who. You know how he feels about you bringing boys over. He'll flip when he sees Rusty."
"Thank you Trish, but I got this. Let's meet up tomorrow if I got things worked out. If not I'll inform you, until take care and don't tell anyone about us going to that part of the forest. We don't want to worry them or let them onto Rusty's...unique traits just yet.
"Hey bring some of those brownies as well, those will be awesome!" Malissa added in as Trish just rolled her eyes and closed the door.
Rusty blinked and after an hour or so of being silent, lost in thought, spoke to Rita. "So...who's this he they're talking about?" Rusty asked a little nervous.
"Oh he's nothing to fear. Just my dad. Come on, he won't bite you...maybe. Let's go." Rita pulled at Rusty's hand and gave him a bit of a reason to be afraid, but being near Rita gave him enough courage to go meet her father and not get bitten for some reason.

First in pool
Last in pool
This is a story I created when I roleplayed with a friend of mine about four years ago and I decided to turn it into a story. There are a few differences such as the original characters having slight changes.

The characters are copyrighted to the proper owner found here.
http://faster-by-choice.deviantart.com/

I hope you all will enjoy.

I'll also be making edits to the story since the ending of this chapter doesn't fit with my new story plot for this story.
