Dawn looked back at her house one last time as she crossed the street. She zipped up her gray hoodie and shoved her hands into her pocket. Dawn headed towards the park. Once she got there, she sat on a bench andset her backpack next to her. Her phone vibrated in her pocket. She took it out and looked at it. 22 new texts from Mom, all angry. Dawn turned off her phone and put it in the bag. She looked up at a van that stopped in front of her. The window rolled down, revealing Matt's tan face and brown hair. "Do you need a ride?" Dawn pushed her hazel hair out of her brown eyes. "Uh. I have no where to go." "That's fine," Matt smiled, "You can come over to my place. I live with my brother but he's never home." Matt opened the passenger door for Dawn. She slid in and shut the door behind her. They rode in silence to Matt's house. Matt led Dawn into the living room. "Make yourself comfortable.Dawn set her bag on the floor and sat on a couch. Matt sat next to her. Dawn yawned and looked at the clock. "You look tired. It's late, and you should sleep. Do you want to sleep in our guest room?" Dawn looked at him. "Yes, please." Dawn followed Matt down the hall into a small room with a queen bed. "I'm going to bed now too. Goodnight." Matt shut the door behind him, leaving Dawn alone in the room. She walked over to the bed. Once her head hit the pillow, she was asleep.
