Background/History
Plata Kaze was born two months early, which immediately worried Silver and Sonic once Silver went into labor seven months after conception. Even though Plata Kaze was absolutely tiny, weighing only fifteen ounces at birth, giving birth to him took seventeen hours. Silver actually lost his voice screaming in intense pain. But immediately after Plata Kaze opened his eyes, Silver and Sonic thought he was born blind because he was born without pupils, a minor birth defect that doesn't effect him at all.
When Plata Kaze first learned how to swim, he absolutely loved it, nd still does to this very day. He loves it so much that he goes to the ocean just to go swimming, not minding the risk of getting bit by a shark or something.
One day, while along the ocean coastline, he was confronted by an evil, yet good seeming mermaid Sea Witch named Nori. They became befriended and he told her about his love of the ocean and swimming. She then told him there was a way for him to see much more of it. She gave him some magic seaweed to allow him to go underwater without holding his breath and took him to her underwater lair, where Nori gave to him a pair of magic bangles that transformed him into a merhog whenever he was in water deeper than he could touch the bottom in. He immediately fell in love with his new form.
But there was a catch. Whenever he took them off, he would be stuck in the form he was currently in until he put them back on, then he could change back again. He agreed and took his sweetold time exploring the undersea kingdom of Atalantia, where he met the mermaid princess Nirvana, and her father, King Poseidon. Plata Kaze told her about Nori and Nirvana warned him about her. He insisted that she was good and that she was his friend, until he learned the hard way.
Nori had a plan to steal Plata Kaze's bangles back so she could change into a human and kill Plata Kaze's father, Sonic. She trapped him in her lair and left him there while she travelled to the surface. He felt the blame was his and he lost all hope, until Nirvana came and freed him. They travelled back to the surface where Nori was at the shoreline ready to kill Sonic. She didn't have the bangles on, but neither Nirvana or Plata Kaze noticed. He fought Nori on land while still a merhog and was starting to die due to lack of water, until Nirvana noticed that Nori no longer had the bangles on.
Nirvana gave Plata Kaze back the bangles just in time and Plata Kaze pushed Nori into the sea, herself drowning because she didn't know how to swim. Plata Kaze was honored in Atalantia and is from now on, always welcomed as a hero.
