Angel of Valhalla Chocobo Commission
Mog Bandit

Commissioned request of a custom pony figure of the mog bandit from Final Fantasy Fable’s: Chocobo’s Dungeon for the Wii~

Requested that this depiction present all the mog’s personas with multiple masks and X’s in cutie mark, and reversible double-sided scarf.

Pony base is a white generation 3 baby pony. This particular base was originally customized by me as a regular moogle back in 2012, but I decided to strip it down for this project.
Tail is white mohair, I kept it from the first mog and left it, just trimmed it up a bit.
Purple wings are cut off from a generation 3 adult-sized core 7 clone pose Starsong pony and pinned to the baby white g3 pony.
Stripped old paint work off from the old moogle custom, and re-painted the black eye slants, made X cutie mark to present all the mog bandit’s personas, made a cream/pink/beige gradient on all the legs, painted his red nose, and pinked the inner ears. Real beaver fur glued to tips of the ears. All paint work is done in acrylic paints.

Pom-pom on head is thick black wire anchored inside the scalp, with a large antique bead. This mog’s pom pom is originally orange but I decided to take creative liberty by using a orange and white striped bead.

Belt- Took a strip of leather, and dyed it with brown leather dye. Cut thin strips of beige leather and fastened it on both edges of belt. Embelished details of rhinestones.

Next accessory crafted, was the duffel bag. Started with white leather for the frame of the bag shape. Punched holes with a leather puncher for stitching, hand-stitched it then stitched pale green zipper along the top edges. Glued down dark green fabric over top after stitching yellow X’s on both sides.

It was requested that the bag be filled with letters, green playing cards, potions, and jewels. So took red leather bag and white envelope I crafted for the old moogle, and stitched them in, first. Then got out 3 gem-like beads/pendants and stitched those in. Crafted red and green potion bottles from beads that I wired together with floral wire, painted in red and green acrylics paints, then sealed with mod podge. Last item crafted, is the cards. Got out card stock, and painted it delicately in various shades of green. Cut them out then glued green rhinestones for finishing details.
Bag strap- Stitched from teal green ribbon. Stitched the ribbon around silver thick wire I shaped into squares via pliers.

Scarf- stitched camouflage and red cotton fabrics together wrong sides exposed, left a opening at the end then pulled the inside out then closed up the end with a finishing stitch.

Masks- purple mask is crafted from purple dyed leather. Took 2 attempts. X on forehead is cut from yellow leather, and stitched into place. Eyes lined in purple hemp cord. Snaps on back of head.

Camouflage mask- also took 2 attempts to get satisfactory. Hand-stitched, eyes lined in light green hemp cord. Dark green leather X cut from leather, fastened into place,  bandage is white hemp cord twisted together with white ribbon tied around the hemp.
Snap on the back of the mask.
