Jace and Cat traded looks of concern. "Is there something the matter, my furry friend?"
"I..." Her smile cracked and curled into a purse-lipped frown. "I'm just so frustrated. We've been running around town all day, trying to track down the invading aliens responsible for all this, only to find out that Carrie and myself have two of those same aliens inside of us. After getting our butts kicked who knows how many times, we're still no closer to finding this monster Osoth. I could take that; I could take all that, if my friends didn't keep getting hurt!" She clenched her fist, red eyes blazing with anger. "We're stronger now, why aren't- HEY!" Jacent affixed his hands to her waist and lifted her up suddenly. She felt herself hoisted into the air and came to rest in a sitting position on his shoulder. The girl clutched his hand and forearm from her new perch as her pulse settled back down. "What're you doing??"
The affable vigilante bore her weight with a sunny smile. "You seemed very upset. I decided to try Carrie's advice."
Nat huffed. "I appreciate it, but-"
"Natalie." His tone became serious without losing its kindness. "I've single-handedly fought every two-bit villain in New York since I was a small child. But I also slept in a dirty box with my eyes open... and I had plenty of practice. When you factor all of that in, I still had to wait for them to make the first move nearly every time. You need more intel on Osoth before we can make our move; it would be best to save your righteous anger for the coming battles ahead!"
Carrie chuckled. "He's right, Sugarbutt." She gestured to Jacent. "Lemme up there, Muscles Gashes." Amused, he held out a hand as if beckoning a low-five, which she stepped into and felt herself lifted up by. Cat sat on Jace's other shoulder, completing an absurd image as if the two girls had become his comically oversized conscience.
"Fusion complete!" He grinned. "We are Deltatron, Combining Robot of Justice!"

I like how the shading on the upper part of Carrie's breasts came together. There's a good balance going there for a convincing shape between the neck and chest on down to the breast tops.
The socks on Nat came out great, you can really see the shape of the leg through the shading.
And I am always a sucker for silly, cute little downtime moments like these in Partners. =)
