...Sonic's idea of hugging is headbutting you a little softer than usual, Shadow's idea of returning it is staying put.

remember this one? I changed some stuff since it had been lying around so long, experimented some on it.
my coloring /shading's all glitchy and some of it, the scanner just didn't pick up, I might fix it when I get the time. (i don't have much time or inclination for drawing right now, busy writing on some stuff)

Quite a cute piece, I must say! I don't quite understand why you'd give Sonic brown eyes while keeping Shadow's red, but I guess it's an acquired taste. I won't complain. The emotion you're able to capture is simply amazing right here, as it is in all of your works. And I don't know if it's just me, but the fact these are done with physical mediums, along with your unique style of the characters, I'm reminded of the kinds of illustrations one would find in a slightly old Peter Cottontail book, which just adds to the atmosphere of the image... It's really something, especially for one like myself who prefers seeing the characters like they appear in the games. I hope you manage to keep it up in the future!

Thanks for dropping by to comment! It warms me to know when I get emotions across in the art. ^-^ Sorry for the response delay but I have no home internet.

Oh, you’ve only seen the green eyes before? I’m used to brown or black(ish) eyes on Sonic. Back in the early 90s, official art and cartoons gave him a range of eye colors - black eyes, brown or grayish-purple, or black with a tint of blue or brown. The bright green was a bit too stark a change for me (in fact, with some of the other changes done, I tend to view the new Sonic as an entirely new incarnation). Of all the eye colors he’s had, I just like the jet black best, because the it's low-key and warm, and I find it adds a sprinkle of calm and softness to a character who’s otherwise all energy and edges and stark colors.

I only ever saw Shadow with red eyes, and I think it fits the rest of his design, so I didn’t see a reason to change that. You might notice I change other things though, like adding leg and arm spines (since I think of him as a tenrec, rather than a hedgehog) and moving the red markings around.

Oh, no, I've seen the black eyes. My grandma used to have a genesis, so I've played the originals. :)

I like your reasoning, though, on the softness to energy ratio you developed. They really should come up with some sort of game that features how his eyes change (the Chaos Energy theory is pretty popular, but I wonder what they'd do). But yeah, your creative license is very entertaining! Kudos!

I wish more R34 artists would do the characters in their own unique style instead of always trying to mimic the original style.

Glad you like it! I like to see both, myself - there's aspects of the Classic style for instance that I really like, but it's interesting to see other people's takes, and if they use their own style, it's even more personal. :)

Sure classic style can be good too, but there's just so many of them.

Hmm, good point. :) I do like to go for ideas that are more rarely tried.

Euh. Ehh.
They somehow look related to the Able Sisters. Sable and Mable.
