"Mother will always be nearby.
"Mother will always protect you.
"Mother will always love you."

Man, that drawing took forever. I bet you know the part where I struggled the most, too! Now, where's my certificate in paleontology?
I got inspired from stegosauruses' skeleton formation for the spine, the pelvis and the rib cage, while the limbs mostly came from human anatomy. Despite having spent so much time on it, there is only so much I wanted to do at first that I ended up not doing. I wanted the skeleton to be more circular, much like a spiral, around the cub... Some bones are too thick, some are too large... Etc.

Well, at least I'm glad I made it through. I can finally proceed to the next – and long postponed – drawing! Yippee~
I get the feeling it won't be loved as much as my other works... but hey. I guess we all have ups and downs.

Wow... That hits home. Very well done. Both in the message it sends, and the technique utilized.

Thanks! I wanted to add rain too, but I wasn't good enough when I made it. ^^;
I might revisit it at some point...

It's still one of your best. You handle the concept in the right direction.

All the hard work is noticeable. ;-)

Thanks! You don't see Cubone with what's left of his mother much, still... but I'm glad you think so! XD

I wonder if Female Marowaks that are wild die after giving birth.  either that, or they starve themselves throughout pregnancy and are near death while laying the egg... who knows, right?

Yeah, that may be plausible, if you don't follow the whole Cubone-is-Kangaskhan's-baby theory... I've always lived by the mindset that eggs coming by the Day-Care people were actually mere coincidences despite the solid proof that the Pokémon that were entrusted to them actually layed the egg. Y'know, "We don't know where it came from, but your Pokémon was holding it."
So in a way, my take is that the theory is real and Cubone are the result of Kangaskhan mothers leaving orphaned children behind them, whether killed by Team Rocket or something else. No idea how the skull would come in their possession, though, unless it was attached to the egg or something. Or some sort of reincarnation process.

... Huh. So you did, so did I. I'm not mad it's being reposted or anything, but... Heh, it's a bit embarrassing, I guess. That, and most of the comments aren't too positive. Oh well, guess I'll hope my stuff gets reposted elsewhere without my permission so I can get more improvement pointers.

So... creepy, eh? Guess I'll have to do more cloying sweets in the future.

For some reason I can't see comments there. Think I've got too many javscript blockers and things.
