Character Sheet for Harland Gunther Snow
Nickname(s)
Gunny
Sex/Gender
male
Species
polar bear
Age
60
Character Description
toony polar bear wearing a blue blazer with blue tinted dress shirt and red tie, and gray dress slacks. Wireframe bifocals. Has a moustache and goatee kind of like Col. Harland Sanders has.
Personality
Openly a baseball fan, particularly of the Marietta Sternwheelers for whom he broadcasts games. He does not disguise his partiality for this team. Tends to geek out about baseball 24/7, and in between games plays simulated games on his laptop computer. He entertains the thought (fantasy?) that he might make a better manager than Lew "Crankbait" Zebco, who is the actual manager of the team.
Likes/Dislikes
The Marietta Sternwheelers losing games tends to bum him out a little, but he's the eternal optimist. Every day is brand new, to his mind.
Background/History
I don't really have much of a history for this character, as I've not really written or played out this character for very long.
World/Setting
The universe surrounding Furry League Baseball and the twelve teams that play in simulated games each summer and early fall.
Body
Polar bear, slightly portly build, but is proud of being on a personal fitness regimen which includes, naturally, daily visits to the batting cages of Putnam Park in Marietta, OH.
Clothing
Blue blazer with WMTA Radio logo. Blue tinted dress shirt and red tie. Gray dress slacks. Wireframe bifocals.
Accessories
Radio microphone and earphones.
Harland Gunther "Gunny" Snow is a radio sportscaster for WMTA, the radio voice of the Marietta Sternwheelers of Furry League Baseball. He is openly a fan of the Sternwheelers, and this shows in the euphemisms he uses during broadcasts. For instance, he will yell, "Sayonara Baby!" when a Sternwheeler home run leaves the ballpark.

He has a more or less nasal voice that dwells on the Rs and Ls. Just picture Bob Costas trying to talk like Tom Brokaw, and you pretty much have it. Gunny is one of the few senior citizen chracters to be found in the furry fandom. I can't explain the love I have for him, in that I honestly think he would make a good continuing character. Maybe he's cool because he speaks to an audience of thousands on an almost daily basis during the summer months.
