Damn, I completely forgot to post this. This was my last picture of 2013. Originally I drew this among other reasons to feature it on a christmas card for a friend, however I completely underestimated the time it would take.
Anjan's tower, as seen in the background, is inspired by the Mage Tower addon for Skyrim, a lore-friendly player home available on Steam.

The characters are Lillian, Anjan and Kazu.

Lillian is normally a white vixen. After finishing her education at an academy of magicks, she started travelling around and explore ancient ruins. That lead her to the land of Netaire where she met Anjan. Netaire's swamps are full of ancient ruins and an artefact inside one such ruin transformed her into a direshadow - a large, wolf-like animal. Later she learnt to change between both forms.

Anjan is the nephew of the current head of the Aran-Araneir family. This family is famous for their ability to communicate with animals (using special abilities as well as a mysterious potion). Anjan inherited this ability to its full extend. However, while the head of the family raised him as his own son, he is not his biological son and thus can not inherit the family name and property. Thus he left his home to go his own way. Prefering the company of animals over that of other Antros, he claimed an old watchtower as his home. The hulk was still in good condition and required little work to be inhabitable and quite cozy. He does not use his family's name, instead he calls himself Anjan deru Nan, a name given to him by Etranga, inhabitants of the swamps. It means "Anjan out of nothing", a reference to him being an excellent hunter, able to sneak up to and surprise his prey. People often refer to Anjan as the "wild boy", because of him living in the wilderness and rarely wearing more than a loin cloth. Anjan is an excellent archer, wields a spear-like weapon in melee combat and plays a duduk-like flute (although he can't read notes and only plays by ear).

Kazu, Anjans loyal companion and best friend, is a gold falcon (distinguishable by the two long golden decorative feathers on the head). This species only lives in Netaire and is favoured among falconers for their intelligence. Anjan had trained Kazu himself and the bird has stayed loyal to Anjan ever since, even though Anjan set him free once when his uncle tried to take Kazu away from him. Kazu does not wear any leather binds as Anjan does not consider him property. He sometimes says that Kazu is not his bird, but Kazu has adopted him as his fox.
