Blast From The Past
Ponysona - Headbanger
Meet Joe.  He's a smooth-talkin', cool-as-ice unicorn from Manehattan that loved sandwiches ever since he was a little colt.  He loved them so much, that he developed a passion for making them himself.  Over time, he made his own creation made out of textured vegetable protein and a sweet and tangy sauce he made himself (completely by accident) piled high on a bun.  He took a bite out of it and absoulutely loved it.  He then made the sandwich for his mom and she took a taste of it.  She loved it too!  That's when Joe decided to make a bunch of sandwiches and bring them to school for the other foals to try and see what they thought.  Needless to say, they all loved it as well.  One filly asked, "This is delicious?  What do you call this?  It's really messy, yet so good!"  That's when Joe said, "Hmmmm...I think I'll call it the 'Sloppy Joe'!  What do you guys think?"  And they all adored the name, which is when little Joe got his cutie mark, and decided to change his name to "Sloppy Joe" after his culinary hit.

Now let's talk about Doug.  He's an intelligent, sensible, and slightly nerdy unicorn stallion from Ponyville.  His mom and dad would always feed him tofu growing up because they thought it was good for him.  He liked it at first, but as time went on, he didn't even want to look at it anymore.  However, that soon changed.  One day at the marketplace, Doug discovered a vendor selling a peculiar product: tofu dogs.  He asked to try one.  He bit into one and discovered that despite being made of tofu, it had a very beefy and full-bodied flavor.  The vendor handed him a bottle of mustard, and he put some on and bit into it again.  It was even better.  Doug then said, "May I please have the recipe, sir?"  And the vendor responded, "There is none.  These hot dogs are made in Manehattan, son."  Doug then said, "There's got to be some way I can enjoy these...I can eat these all the time!"  The vendor responded, "Why not come work for me?  All the tofu dogs you can eat!  While on your break, of course."  And so Doug got a job after school working with the hot dog vendor.  Doug turned out to be so good at the job, that he surpassed the vendor in both sales and service.  "Kid, you've become a better hot dog slinger than me.  I think it's time you took my old cart and started travelin' all of Equestria, bringin' our hot dogs to all the hungry ponies of the world." The vendor proudly told Doug.  "Thank you, sir!  I will!" And then Doug got his cutie mark and left for Manehattan under the new name "Hot Doug".

Now for how Doug met Joe.  Joe and Doug were both working on the same street corner in Manehattan one day.  Not ones to be bitter at competition, they went up to each other during their breaks and started chatting.  Joe couldn't help but notice that Doug was a fellow sandwich dealer, and Doug couldn't help but notice that Joe was the same thing.  They both noticed that they got a ton of customers and were well loved by the public.  So, Joe suggested that him and Doug team up, create new menu items, and bring together their culinary prowesses into one mega-effective food juggernaut.  Of course, Doug jumped on the offer and they both brohoofed on it.  From that day forward, Sloppy Joe and Hot Doug were united under the same world-famous traveling food wagon, simply named "Joe and Doug's", bringing their hunger-slaying sandwiches (vegan, of course) to all the hungry stallions and mares of Equestria.

Thanks sis.  You know, some food places are in such bad competition they won't even consider working together like these two did.  Look up the Pat's and Geno's rivalry in Philadelphia and you'll see what I mean.

Characters based on two of my most favorite TV personalities and foodies? Absolutely awesome! :D The designs are quite befitting of those two, and nice backstories and such as well!

Thanks, little bro!  These two were in my head for a few days actually.  It's about time I finally posted them.  Looks like the Mane Six are gonna have a new place to hang out and eat once the wagon rolls into Ponyville!  That is, if they can stand waiting on line for about 30 to 60 minutes!

Sure thing, big bro! Oh yes, with those two in charge, it'll be well worth the wait! X3
