Day Two We had gotten lucky this year and had started school on a Friday which fit our plans for the weekend. We were all meeting up at Kathrin’s house at 9:00am and we’d stay until school on Monday. We had even drawn out a schedule which went as follows; (you can see it here, IB doesnt let me copy-paste pictures even though that would be awesome http://img138.imageshack.us/img138/3041/cmnr.png)
To be honest, I liked the schedule. Well, most of it. ‘Never have I ever’ usually turns into ‘let’s see how naughty you’ve been in your life’ which is something I’ll probably pass on. Nobody ever says anything interesting, probably because no one has ever gone farther than a kiss as far as I know. I ended up going an hour early since my ‘home’ life isn’t exactly special. Remember how I said my parents were dead? Well I ended up with the most boring and abusive people in the world as foster parents. Their idea of fun is sitting around doing puzzles and hitting me when I miss-guessed where a piece would go. Anyway, it turns out that Katt thought I’d end up being early and so she modified the schedule for me, which read out; “8:00am – Felix meet up” which was rather nice of her. Low and behold, at exactly 9:00am everyone else showed up and we all ran to Katt’s house. House is yet another understatement. Her house is a four story, 20 bedroom, 10 bathroom mansion with a huge dining room, a movie theatre, and a giant kitchen along with a staircase that belongs more in the movie ‘Anastasia’ from Disney than in someone’s house. To put it simply; it was amazing. As soon as we entered we went to the dining room. The dining room housed a gigantic table that could seat more than thirty people which was redundant seeing as we all sat next to each other. We sat in silence before bringing up our running joke for whenever we all go to Kathrin’s home. “So Kathrin, how is this room when people are over?” I start, to which she pretends to think for a moment and replies; “About as crazy as a house full of animals” We all laugh since we know that her parents only invite Changers, Fae, and Elementals to their house. They were involved with some shady things in the other world, or as I like to call it sometimes; “the non-world”. Breakfast was amazing as expected. She had a five-star chef and several servants who were dedicated to her every need. We had crepes which are a type of flat French pancake and Éclairs which are pastries covered in chocolate with a crème center. After breakfast we all retreated to Katt’s room upstairs on the fourth floor. The next thing on the list was “never have I ever” which once again, I dislike. It’s a children’s game and it usually ends up being raunchy before it mellows out. Never have I ever is a game where someone starts by saying ‘never have I ever’ and then says something they’ve never done and if someone has done it, they put a finger up. First one to put up all ten fingers loses. We liked to add on an extra rule where if you lose, you must stay in your animal form for an entire day. About half an hour into it, my thoughts turned out right as Jason said; “Never have I ever…” and then he whispered the never into everyone’s ear making everyone blush as Jason laughs like a madman. I’ll skip what he said, but no one put their finger up. In fact other than that, I kept putting fingers up because the questions were rather stupid things like “never have I ever eaten a grapefruit” or “never have I ever lent out a pencil to someone” and thus I lost. “I guess this means I need to change, right?” I ask, hopeful that they’ll change their minds. I’m not experienced in changing yet, so it takes enough out of me that I faint upon change. It’s actually quite complicated. It starts will calling our Familiar, or animal spirit. That alone is hard enough for someone who never calls them (My Familiar is an Abyssinian, which is a specie of cat). The council threw a fit once they received word of the book “the golden compass” because they were sure that the hidden world was discovered by the author. The next step is connecting on a spiritual level, I don’t mean spirit as in religion, I mean spirit as in the literal spirit. This is not as hard, as the Familiar has already been found and summoned, so all it takes is finding the right frequency of their spirit-tone. Once the Familiar has been summoned a “summoner’s circle” appears at the feet of the Changer showing that he or she is in the middle of the ceremony. This is the one that appears at my feet (also it’s really hard to draw one of these); The gang all say that eventually mine will get really complicated like the experts who summon their familiar without having to change into their body, which is an even harder thing to do than just changing.
They all nod, one by one, smiling evilly. I sigh and activate my summoner’s circle. It took a few minutes to connect to my Familiar since it had been a while since I had connected to him last. But once I had, it took a mere three seconds before I disappeared in a flash of light and was replaced by the body of an unconscious cat, my Changed form. When I awoke, I heard Katt and Leo bickering about what to do about me. “Do we go swimming and let him sleep, or do we try to wake him up and have him change back?” Leo asks, contemplating both sides, which was weird because Leo rarely contemplates anything. “How about we wake him up and have him go swimming as his current form.” Kathrin says, smiling a devilish grin that slowly spread to Leo, as they slowly crept towards me, unbeknown to them, I was watching and awake. Once they were mere inches from me, I sprang up; startling them both and making Leo fall down with a short groan of pain as he hit his tailbone. Kathrin didn’t think it was funny and grabbed me by my scruff and took me to where the indoor pool was before tossing me into the heated water. She’s just lucky that I happen to enjoy water and swimming, even as my changed form. I started laughing triumphantly at my small victory over Leo and Kathrin. Or at least I did until Katt changed in a matter of seconds and jumped in after me. She’s a really fast swimmer for a fox. After she jumped in, it wasn’t me who was laughing, it was both of us. Jason even hopped in after a while. Leo just sat on deck, which was next to the pool, and suntanned. Later on, we all went onto the next thing on the list; the movie. We all decided to watch The Golden Compass. My reasoning behind it was to watch it for some laughs as we pick it apart and see what’s wrong with it compared to us. The movie was interesting but wasn’t that good, if I had to rate it I’d give it a three and a half stars. The plot was good, the cgi was decent, but the characters had horrible personalities. Then came dinner, which was fish. I had to stay changed for it, but I wasn’t complaining since my taste buds were extremely susceptible to the taste of umami (also known as meatiness) but I can’t taste sweetness unlike my human form which lets me fuel my sweet-tooth. The rest of the night was spent playing video games, games such as Dark Chronicles (also known as Dark Cloud 2), and Kingdom Hearts 2. Both of which I had painstakingly fully completed. They took me over a hundred hours to finish one hundred percent. I fell asleep before everyone else so I’m not entirely sure what they did after the games.
