Well I got on a bit of a spree lately and been sketching more so I've revisited some of my older characters and went waaaay back to a Lion cousin of Lig's named Daren, now properly spelled. So here he is with an updated look and expanded upon personality.

It'd been a good day in Shining Hills. Darren had just gotten back home after visiting with a Rabbit friend named Ryan. The two had spent some time together just riding around the old paths out on the edge of town. Darren wasn't much of an ATV guy but of course he wasn't the one doing the driving and it was a nice enough excuse to hug someone close. They talked and explored finding old bits of this or that in the hills so named for all the old steel things that could be found here and there through out. Ancient cars, an old rusted out rifle caked with several centuries of dirt and grime. Ryan going about this way and that. For a rabbit without working legs he sure was quick to zip around with his travel chair. But after a long day it was about time to come home. They'd both went through the "supplies" they'd brought and by now were both in need of a change. Darren walked on up to his room and got undressed and changed his soggy diaper. He was just slipping on his night shorts when his mom Clair walked in.

"So you and Ryan have a nice day?" Clair asked startling her teenaged son a bit.

"Mooom! Knock first. I could have been in the middle of changing." Darren whined a bit as he finally tugged up his shorts as a blush formed.

"So? I used to change those diapers not all that long ago sweetie." Clair told him with a smile as the blush deepened. "But alright sweetie. I'll try to knock next time. So how was your day?"

"Pretty good. We went all over around the hills and found a few neat things. We found this waaaay old rifle out in the hills. I dunno how Ryan spotted it. There was only a bit of it sticking out of the dirt. Must have been from the Old war." Darren told her as he followed her out to the living room.

"Probably. They say there were a few battles from the Great War fought in the area." Clair nodded as Darren flopped onto the couch. "I'll call you out when diner's ready. I'm making yours and your father's favorite. Gazelle burgers with some BBQ sauce."

"Mmm! sounds great mom! Say where is dad?" Darren asked noticing that he hadn't seen him and he was usually in the living room by now.

"He called from work. Said they had the Johnson's horse in Surgery and that he'd probably be an hour late. Should be home just as dinner's ready. If not we'll stick his in the microwave for him." Clair told Darren who nodded and kicked back on the couch. One of the downsides to your dad being a Vet. Sure you occasionally got to see cool animals but there were also these lil emergencies. Darren just shrugged tough and flicked on the TV to begin channel surfing and enjoy a lazy evening at home.
