Meet Lieutenant Plum Bob of the Hoofington Police Department. I'm sorry to say, I don't know quite what personality descriptors to pull out.... His cutie mark represents balance, and he has a secondary talent of pathfinding. As a cop, he carries himself like a cop. And Slippery Slope
is his coltfriend.
That gun he's carrying is attuned to him; no unicorn can levitate it. This is not unique to him, because his buddy John Hodgepodge found a way to attune such weapons to each of the HPD's earth pony officers. It's a pilot program, actually, and success here will determine whether guns will spread to other police departments.
(Mane 6 connection: he already had his cutie mark and was standing on a fencepost, practicing, when the Sonic Rainboom knocked him over. He tumbled end over end, but nothing but his hooves ever landed directly on anything. So he started practicing route plotting, too, and can usually find paths navigable by even a pony with no sense of balance.)
