She had told herself she ended up on this strip of land by accident, that she was only following the seaside out of convenience. Now...
I just want to see...
...see that everything’s all right.
Everything was fine. The garden was flowing over with greens and flowers, and the sounds of chatting voices rose from the other side of the white cottage, along with some soft music. She could single out Cream’s voice among the rest, full of excitement.
A party, a social gathering of... Before she could think the word, her fur had twitched up on her back, and she had turned to find a trail away from the beach.
But then that voice had called out her name, and Blaze hadn’t been able to move as Cream ran down the garden path, swung the gate open and threw her arms around Blaze’s waist. The hold had been foreign and too familiar at once, and impossible to wrench herself out of. Now Cream was dragging her by the arm back up that path, toward the lights and warm sounds.
”You came back! This is the best birthday gift ever! I’m so happy! I missed you so much!”
Birthday? She had no idea. Cream chirped on, hugged her arm tighter, and Blaze became acutely aware of how much dirt and road grime she had on herself.
”Your dress,” she blurted, ”it’ll get dirty!...”
It was white, to boot. Cream just giggled.
”That’s okay! I’ll wash it myself tomorrow.” She turned down her voice to a dramatic whisper, making it clear that they now had a big secret to keep. ”Then maybe Mom won’t notice I already spilled ice cream on it.”

Glad to have finished this, finally. The sketch must be three years old and it's been lying around almost-colored for months. :p
Also I learned that I know nothing about what gardens look like. *homework*
