The sun was setting, the air was getting cool, and the winds had finally begun to die down. Yawning widely, the large draconic hybrid pulled himself from his cave and poked his sleek head outside, sniffing the air and lifting a paw to rub at his tired eyes. The storm had been raging for days, keeping him cooped up in that little cave while hurricane gusts of wind clawed at the mountains, keeping him awake with its constant howling and screeching. He'd been so disoriented when the storm first hit he wasn't quite sure where he was, and was already weak from lack of food even before he was forced to land and hide. He hadn't seen a tempest so violent and angry in many a year, but now that it was finally over he had a chance to get his bearings and find something better to eat than mountain rocks. Not exactly nutritious and certainly not tasty.
Clambering up a steep slope towards the peak, he kept his large wings folded against his back, strong claws digging into the rocks as his powerful muscles flexed under scale and fur, dragging him further and further, ascending rapidly despite his weakened state until he reached the mountain's highest point, perching atop it and peering out into the distance, the last remnants of the storm's winds ruffling his mane, making the long blonde hair dance behind him.
Home... It would be good to go home.
