Got tired of trying and failing with 3D Faces so went to try a 2D one + let my fantasy go little on a loose. Always wanted to try some Sci-Fi/Fantasy future related stuff and this one was definitely a fun, I am a sucker for when it comes to Steam/Cyberpunk.
(Long-ass Sci-Fi story warning)
The story takes place in an alternate universe where mining and planet cracking have become an especially lucrative business. The discovery of new minerals, alloys and materials itself led to a high technology boost, including both biological and technological ways. Corporations invested an unbelievable amount of funds into modifications of their machinery and personnel. This led to the discovery of new compound called Neuphorium; which could be used as a source of fusion energy to power engines when contained in stable stasis for almost unlimited amounts of time. The compound itself made it possible to alter the basic build of DNA of habitants, prolonging their life expectancy to almost double or triple the length. It also made their metabolism work radically slower reducing their basic needs for food or sleep.
This led to building special breeding facilities; built for producing test tube babies born only to serve the Corporation as mindless slaves. Basically these creations never experienced things like joy, happiness or love. They just served their purpose: to work. Their lack of emotions and needs along with massive body proportions (in terms of bone density and muscular strength) made them the perfect working tools.
The current cub on the pic is a worker for one of the biggest companies in their universe called Rattcorp. He was specifically developed and raised by the company to be one of the highest ranked workers. All the high ranked subjects are sent once every year on a trip called Spirit Refreshment which involves nothing more than leaving them struggle for their life on a deserted sky high column for 7 days without any resources. To make it even worse, they force them to spend the time with their personal working tool (Current pic - Fist Drill - model 88 ver.2). Failure to keep the device with them at all times would lead to their death: killed by the company. This psychological process was developed to suppress any possible emotional extension which could occur in the early phase of experimentation.
The collar is used to track and manage the health of all subjects. A proximity device fitted into the collar is used to ensure that all subjects are not separated from their equipment during their ongoing procedure or to prevent the subject from being stolen by other companies, both situations leading to terminate subject's life functions.
