The duo you see here are more talented then they appear. The wolf cutting the fish is nine years of age, dubbed the name Challis, (His real name is Kayos Ingine, but he doesn't like that name, so shh...) while the book holding fox has witnessed ten, he would rather go by his nickname, Amender, (A shortening of Anglo-Nereman Mender. he curses his long winded full name.)
Challis is unlike any other. he was hunted for since he was born, and was brought up to live in the Great Forest as his parents ran away with him there. he lived there without fear, peacefully enjoying life while he developed his physique very quickly. That was all fine and well, until he was found, and his parents were killed in an attempt to hide him in the forest. It would have been that he'd walk alone...would have been. but years later, he found a soul that entered the Great Forest that had intrigued him; a fox, walking casually and picking the flora around, collecting them into a basket. knowing of all the dangers inside the woods, Challis decided to shadow this stranger, making sure he'd be safe at least. weeks later, the wolfish boy would work up the nerves to actually confront the one he'd been stalking. it would be then, that Amender and Challis would turn out to be the bestest of friends.
Amenders' days in a village bordering the Great Forest was full of fear. fear of the monsters that loomed in the woods. The worst of them, being an incredible force that could very well devour castles...or so that's what the stories would foretell. Unfortunately, Amender was the son of the towns medicine man, thus it was his duty to go forth, and collect precious plants and herbs to heal, and cure the sick. it sure was scary, of course. but after he met a friend within this so called dangerous place, he decided that maybe the place wasn't so bad after all.
or was it?
but before all the disasters strike, there is peace, for now. As the fish was plucked from the warm waters set before the two, Challis held the soon to be food item in paw as a neat prize. practical surrounded by woods, there was an out of place stone set on the nearby, flat and rightly conspicuous. "You may want to look away, you know." Amenders friend caught his attention, making him look up from reading a book about medical herbs his dad had given him. "wait, why?" he looked at Challis quizzically, before the wolf quickly slapped the fish on the stone, and swiftly brought an axe down on the flopping creature. That quizzical look turned into regret as he witnessed a fish head suddenly fall away from its body. It wasn't that he minded the actually killing, it was just seeing it flop around, struggling. Challis on the other hand, jubilantly enjoyed fish, and just simply could not wait to feast!
i should really get started on writing these twos adventures one day. maybe.
