Fed Up And Taking Aim
You've all likely seen it by now, and I HAD to give it a shot. While the new design has actually grown on me rather quickly, I'm having as many fits about it. I didn't much like the new gloves, and I wasn't a fan of all the white highlights. I've been considering changing Sally's outfit for TSAT (like many other characters) , and this is what it will likely be, hybridizing the NYCC concept art with some of my own basic ideas and the old.

The lack of cheek-ruffs and the creepy hedgehog tail on a chipmunk and squirrel hybrid is kind of a deal-breaker for me.

The outfit I could care less about.  Clothes change.

I just find it damned inconsistent that roboticizing/deroboticizing Sally has this drastic change on her now, when it didn't before.  And when it never effected Sonic or Tails similarly.  *twitch* Very glad I quit reading the comics.

I'll give them this, they're trying to mix it up. I agree with Ian Flynn that their outfits and designs are indeed outdated and need to be spruced up. I am doing the same thing in TSAT. They may try to mix it up again later on, we'll see.
