Tia and Salo practice their fighting skills. Tia is a very confident fighter, Champion of Tori five years running. Salo is the new Champion of Tori, but he has never bested Tia in a bout. Tia was simply disqualified from this year's tournament because of her five-year streak, a maximum reached by only one other Leonin in the 134 years that the Tori has been held. Tia fights with her slint, a staff weapon with a barbed knife blade at one end and a weighted strikeball on the other. Salo tries to fight back with his bastard sword Moranis, a sword so large, most have trouble even lifting it, but Salo generally wields it single-handed. Salo is a leftie, so Tia enjoys her bouts with him, because he fights differently than most of her other opponents, and she claims Salo keeps her reflexes sharp. Salo claims all of his injuries came from fighting with Tia.
