Prologue
In a small field about a half a days ride from the captial city of Velnorm in the kingdom of Aryonda.  A young grey fox was training to be a knight or i should say he was pretending to train for he was was only the age of twelve and while the Knights Academy would be willing to take him in. His mother, Myrel although supporting, thought him to young to go though such training. for you  see it was her that had read The young fox stories, fairy tales, of knights that would become great heros. Stories of fighting dragons, saving princesses, and becoming a legend among the kingdom. This is what drove the young fox to train with a wooden sword his father had made for him. Most would think that at the age of a twelve he would just be playing but the fire that burned in his eyes when he swung that sword left no doubt that he would be a great knight. As the sun began to fall over that small field the young fox could hear his mother's voice echoing across the field. "Weiss, it's starting to get dark. It's time for you to come back inside, i've got dinner waiting for you." Weiss stopped his training, nodded to his mother and walked over to the house. The house was small with only three rooms, a dining room and two bedrooms. No matter the size it would always be home to this small family. Weiss walked inside his mother laying out the food on the table. "how was your training sweety?" Myrel asked. Weiss looked up at her and sighed "i just don't know if i'm getting any better. I'm able to do the things dad taught me with ease but I need something to push me to that next step."   His mother smiled at him "don't worry sweety, I'm sure something will come to you. you've accomplished more then most knights would by your age." Suddenly the door swung opening as Weiss's father, Stark came into the door. Weiss ran up to him and was swept in a bear hug, his feet leaving the ground. After a few seconds he could feel his feet touch the ground again. He looked up at his father and asked "how was work at the forge?" Stark smiled and said "it was a busy day, had a huge order come in from the capital. swords, shields and armor for the new recruits at the Knights Academy."  hearing about the Knights Academy might have upset Weiss but he knew that in time he would be there and smiled at the news. Stark turning his attention to his wife asked "that smells good, what's for dinner?" She was just setting up the bowls as the table when she turned and smiled at her husband. "it's nothing special just rabbit stew." Stark walked over to the table, Weiss following behind him and sat down at the table, Weiss sitting next to him. Myrel sat the pot of rabbit stew in the middle of the table. Weiss and his father got their bowls filled and began eatting. Stark was half way though his bowl when he asked Weiss about his training. Weiss gave him the same answer he had given his mother and his father smiled, finishing off his bowl. Stark looked as Weiss and said "I think i might have something to help you with your problem" a grin on his face. Weiss wasn't sure what his father could have that would help him but he was excited to find out "once you finish your dinner, come out the forge. I think you might like what you see." Stark got up from the table and walked back outside. Weiss hurried to finish his stew and told his mother thank you before rushing out the door. He ran over to the forge where his father was waiting at the entrance. Stark walked inside with Weiss following close behind. They walked over to the far corner of the of the forge where Stark  opened a storage. He turned to Weiss with a sword no bigger then the wooden sword Weiss had been training with."this is something i've been working on for you son. I knew that you would need a real sword to train with and I wanted to make sure that it was a sword worthy of your skill." Weiss stood in aw of the blade, as his father handed it to him. Unlike his wooden sword there was more weight but that was to be expected but what he nocticed most of the balance of the sword. the weight was distributed perfectly from the point the hilt and blade connected. there was nothing special about the way the sword looked just a simple leather bound handle and no adornments on the blade but Weiss new that the way sword looked did not matter compared to how it preformed. Stark watched his son with a serious expression on his face studying the sword from hilt to point. "how about you take outside and give it a few swings." Weiss looked away from the blade and up at his father with a smile and rushed out the door. his father kept a training dummy outside of the forge to test the weapons he made and to do some training himself. Weiss ran up to the dummy with a renewed enthusiasm eager to test what this new blade could do. And after a few swings he new that this sword was one he would keep him for a long time.  Stark watched his son approvingly as pride started to swell up in him. Weiss turned to his father "this blade is perfect! I can't thank you enough dad." Weiss said Putting the blade aside running up to his father to hug him. Stark looked up into the sky, it was getting darker by the minute "I think it's time we get back to the house, we won't be able to see a feet to walk if we stay out here much longer." Weiss nodded his head in agreement and walked back to the house and went to bed.
The next morning Weiss woke up early. He was eager to start training with his new sword. He walked into the kitchen where his mother was making breakfast. He would have started training right away but he was hungry set his excitement aside "no need to start training just to collaspe from hunger" he thought. He sat the table his where his father was sitting. Starked turned to Weiss with smile "good morning  son, did sleep well?" Weiss turned to his father and said " I didn't get much sleep, I was to excited wanting to train with my new sword." Stark gave out a bark of  laughter and patted Weiss on the head "you'll get your chance Weiss but first let's eat." After breakfast Weiss was about to rush out the door when Stark stopped him. Weiss looked at him quizzically wondering what he could want. Stark jestered Weiss to sit down and got Myrel. Weiss wasn't sure what was going on, did he do something wrong, he couldn't think of anything that would upset his parents. Both Stark and Myrel sat next to Weiss. Stark with a serious expression on his face said "Weiss you have been training hard for the past two years. Your skill with sword at such a young age is a true gift but your not going to improve you you stay here so i had a talk with your mother last night and we both agreed that you should be admitted into the Knights Academy to improve this skill to it's fullist." The smile that come apon Weisses face is something that can not be discribed. The joy that he felt when heard those words. That he could final go to train to become a knight. His dream would finally become true. Weiss couldn't think of anything to say, He embraced his parents with as much joy as could give. He stood up from the chair looked at both his parents trying to gain his composer although the excitement he felt could not be held back "I can't think you enough for this, I won't let you down." Stark got a big grin on his face "i'm sure you won't son, Now get ready we'll be heading out in a hour to head to the captial. The enrollments start soon." Weiss ran into his room and began packing, grabbed his sword and rushed outside to where his parents where waiting. Stark watched his son running up and turned to Myrel who had a worried expression as she saw Weiss running up "don't worry Myrel, you and I both have seen what he's capable of. This is what he wants and i'm confident he will make us both proud." Weiss walked up got in the carriage as the headed for the captial to fulfil  the dream he had always wanted. He would finally become a knight.
The next day after the Weiss had signed up for the Academy he took one last look at his home and began heading to the captial with his parents. When they arrived at the entrance. Weiss turned to his parents " I promise that i won't let you down and I can't thank you enough for allowing me to train here." They both looked at thier son with a smile and said thier farwells Myrel trying not to cry. As Stark and Myrel got back on the carriage, Stark turned to his wife and said "don't worry, he may be young but he can handle himself. This is what he wants and we have no right to deny it to him." Myrel composed herself and smiled at Stark " I wasn't tearing up from sadness, as much as i want him to stay with us. I'm proud of the way he has become." Stark gave a big laugh and said "that's the spirit, now lets get back to the house. I'm starting to get hungry." Myrel gave a small laugh as the rode back home.
Weiss walk up to the gate of the Knights Academy where a gate keeper was standing guard. He looked up at the him and said "my name is Weiss Immer, i'm a new recruit to be joining today." The gate keeper grabbed a piece of parchment from his inside his armor and started studying it. "ah, here we are, Weiss Immer, age twelve to be joining the first year recruits." the gate keeper put the parchment back his armor and opened the gate "just head, strait down the hall and wait with the other recruits. The trainer should be joining shortly so make sure to hurry along. Weiss nodded and began to go down the hall. the hall was dimly lit with just enough light to see. It was made out of cobble stone and was around ten feet high to the ceiling. although it was dimly lit it gave off a sense of comfort, even though it felt like walking into a nicely adorned cave. After walking for about a minute Weiss came into a clearing where he saw the other recruits waiting. Although nervous he composed himself and joined in with recruits. The recuits looked at Weiss with confussed look, for while there was no age limit to start training at the Academy no one had gone at such a young age as Weiss. Most of the first year recuits ranged from the age sixteen to twenty. none of the recuits seemed willing to walk up to Weiss not sure what to say to someone so young. An eagle who looked to be around nineteen had noticed Weiss , began to walk up to him. The eagle smiled and extended his hand "Name's Arum, i'm second year recruit here at the Academy. Might I ask for your name?" Weiss stood there not sure what to think before he hastily took a hold of Arums hand "names Weiss, it is a pleasure to meet you Arum."  he said trying maintain his composer. Arum just kept smiling "It's nice to meet you Weiss." Weiss smiled back "it's nice to meet you as well Arum." Arum said " I hope i'm not being rude be asking but what is someone so young doing at the Knights Academy? Weiss got a huge smile on his face "I've always wanted to become a knight like in the stories my mother used read to me. I want to be able to protect the people around me like they could. I want to face impossible odds risking my own life so no one has to be hurt or suffer." Arum was taken aback by this for it wasn't just what he said but how he said it. while the cause of his motives may have been from childerns stories. The fire that burned in someone so young left no doubt  to Arum that Weiss could become someone great but he would have to wait and see. For while Weiss had good intentions, he was still young and Arum wanted to make sure this young fox had what it took to reach his goals. Arum turned to the other recruits "you better go join them, the trainer will be coming along soon" he turned back to Weiss "it was nice meeting Weiss, i'm sure we'll be seeing more of each other in the years to come." Weiss nodded and ran over to the other recruits and waited for the trainer to arrive. It was finally happening for his training to become a knight was finally coming true.
