A little history on Orochi and Noname.
Orochi is a sniper and one of the best the Feline Empire has to offer. He can do some of the most difficult shots from some of the most difficult positions, but there is a trade off, he needs a few seconds to line up his shot. Also, Orochi's bow is much tighter and has a higher draw strength than that of the troop archers so the arrows travel faster and fly farther.

Noname is a troop archer, he is also one of the top ranked bowfurrs in the Feline Empire. While Noname may not be able to do trick shots or fire from odd positions very well, his rate of fire is higher and his aim time is nearly instantanious! And Noname has one last edge over the sniper, his quiver holds more arrows.

So in retrospect, what we have here is a Dragonov sniper rifle (Orochi) VS an AK-47 machine gun (Noname).

sometimes it takes only one shot to hit the mark, while 100 still keep missing the spot. And sooner or later also the AK runs out of bullets. The sniper keeps at least allways one. (and here you can see how much arrows the other one has left.)

How long did u take to come up with those names? ;) Orochi is the 8 headed serpent, but noname sounds a bit generic to me ;)

I guess the army has many archers but not so many legendary snipers :)

Funny you should ask that. Orochi was a name I heard in passing and thought, "Hey that sounds like a cool name."
As for Noname, well a couple years ago I didn't have a name for the corporal so I asked the audiance to give him one. Nobody responded, so my girlfriend said. "Why not call him Noname. Ya know... No Name."
And that how I got those names.

The way snipers are trained to shoot basically requires them to not be seen. They need deep focus and concentration. Also if he is focused on one person, another might very easily kill him without him noticing. And the archer doesn't necessarily have to be any worse of a shot. At close range like they are, I would say the archer definitely has the advantage.

Sniper vs Archer?  In this case since their both visible, the Archer of course, Snipers collapse under pressure when their visible and on the run.  That's the entire point a sniper needs to be unseen to do their best work and when their not invisible their in trouble...

I dunno about collapsing under pressure... but you do have a valid point about snipers prefering to be invisable.
