I don't make music anymore (collab)

Gonn made this beat after a bit of a musical hiatus. When I heard it, I was inspired to do something with it. He's got a great atmosphere here, and I love the way the different parts blend together; separate, they sound so totally different, almost incompatible, but they mesh perfectly. It's great :3

Lyrically, I played off the title. I feel this way sometimes, like I'm not making something new, like it's all been done before and I'm not good for anything but copying. Other times, I feel like there's no way I could make a decent career doing the music I like to do because there's no market for it. They market flashy bullshit, a lot of the time, and that's not really what I want to do with my music.

Enjoy :D

Lyrics:

I don't make music anymore.
It's not that I find it a bore,
But more that it seems like a chore.
Most effort, no profit.
So instead of fail, I'll stop it.
Don't wanna be stale when I drop it,
When I don't inhale, I talk shit,
But I don't have the chops to back it up.
I try to be original.
But I don't have a natural flow.
My instinct is to take what I know
And give it a go.
But what I know is what's been done.
So is that understandable?
Or am I just an animal
with a biter's mandible,
Snacking on tighter flows like a cannibal?
Do you see my dilemma?
I feel like I'm getting no where,
I don't see a reason to care.
Why share when there's nothing there?
If I get rid of my hair
With a dollop of Nair
Maybe then people can honestly stop and stare
And admire this grand façade (that I wear).

I don't wanna make music anymore.
It's pouring salt in an open sore.
The industry is a pampered whore.
Most effort. No profit.
Any talent I have is ignored.
Originality's a double edged sword.
If your style's far out,
Then I'm inclined to doubt
That a talent scout
With a silver snout
Will knock on your door.
And the art of freestyle is lost.
Give me a bumpin' beat at low cost.
And yes, this rhyme was all pre-scripted.
But is that understandable?
Or am I just an animal
with a biter's mandible,
Snacking on tighter flows like a cannibal?
Do you see my dilemma?
If no one is listening anyway,
Then why sit at home all day
With a guitar in my lap
And a microphone in maw,
A keyboard under paw,
When I can dress like a chicken and go to the mall
And watch the people stare in awe
At my grand façade.

This kind of reminds me of the song "There is a war going on for your mind" by Flobots.

I completely understand what you mean! There are so many good artists out there be it on site like this or Youtube that just don't make any fame or real standing compared the the bs that's out like beiber, black and all that. Hundreds of times better than so many well-known artists out there I salute you sir

Well, thank you z^____^z

the other half of the coin, though, is about whether or not I feel I'm any better than they are.
