So a bout of insomnia and idle net surfing led to catching up on several years' summary of the positively-out-of-their-minds Sonic comics. Good God, the (admittedly sometimes awesome) insanity of the stories those things have gone off into.

But during the process, I ended up seeing a bunch of pages from the Sonic: Genesis anniversary/homage arc, and the instant rapport Tails and Rotor had (which makes so much more sense than Tails Hero-worshipping a douche like Sonic), along with the series' writer saying that yeah, he always thought it was obvious Rotor was gay (and it was, come on), led to me wanting to do something cute with the two.

It's usually best to ask permission first before doing anything with someone else's drawings.

In this case, asking would give me the chance to let you know I already intend to have it colored, if I don't do it myself.

That was the plan Ken Penders made for him; he put in a couple of hints to that effect in the comics, but for whatever reason (the common belief is that it was to keep people from complaining), the hints were so subtle they were lost on people and when Ian Flynn took over, he didn't continue it and eventually wrote the whole thing off as "irrelevant" (so he neither confirms nor denies it, just stating that Rotor's sexuality and personal relationships likely won't be explored in the future). There's still a chance he could continue it, but right now the fact that it was Penders' idea and he's got a lawsuit ongoing with Archie is keeping it from happening.

As a kid, He liked cool things.
As an adult, What was cool changed from Attitude, to Engineering.

Well, it's confirmed in the comic that Rotor taught everything he knew to Tails, so he definitely had some influence over Tails' love of mechanics.

No, Ken Penders said Rotor was gay. Ian didn't know about it, so wrote the whole thing off as irrelevant when he found out. He did admit later that, had he known in advance, he would've likely continued the story, but the current lawsuit with Ken prevents him from doing so, right now.

It was fairly obvious... though i never knew about what the writer had said about it. Sorta intrigues me to look back at some of the earlier comics now. >.>
