Coco's Life Chapter 2
Coco's Life Chapter 4
Courtney sat in the basement of this new place.  Marcus said they were opening and she wasn't ready, so se sat there, listening to the music change.  First it was nice music, she swayed to it.  Saxaphones, trombones, trumpets.  Then soft, violines, violas, cellos's.  Now, it was load.  A DJ had come and was playing pumped up music.  It bothered her ears.  Everynow and then, outside the cold stone room, she heard people move around.  SOmetimes sh eheard another girl scream or yelp.  She looked up at teh ceiling, the throbbing in her hip had gone down a bit, but it still hurt when she moved.  The door to the room opened and Marcus stood there with a large racoon, maybe a foot taller than him.  "This is her."  He said.
The racoon looked at her, "yes, she will be simple enough."  Marcu gestured for her to come.  Courtney slowly stood on her feet and hobbled over.  "Tiny, it'll be a challenge, but I can manage."  The racoon said, shrugging.  He bent down and smiled at the kitten, "my name is Cole, I'll be your personal make-up artist." He said with a toothy grin.  Courtney stared at him.
"Oh, and if you can, find a more...suitable name for her.  Courtney isn't good enough."  Marcus said walking off.  Cole huffed and walked off.  Courtney already knew to follow.  They didn't have to walk far.  They came to a room that looked like a design studio.  Cole scooped her up and set her down gently on the table.  He himself sat on a stool by a make-up counter.
"Now, I know you are scared, believe me.  When I was young I worked here too, but I'm going to be here to help you, understand?"  Courtney nodded.  "Now, first things first, Marcus likes know whta make up loks good on his girls, so, let's begin."  Cole reached over and picked up some color cards and moved the stool closer to Courtney.  "Lets see what colors compliments your eyes."  He held up different colors by her eyes and studied them, "blues and greens."  He nodded and put them down and chose a compact and held it, "now, the next thing, unfortunatly, is your name.  I'm very sorry, but we have to change it."
"...why..?"
"Sweety. everyone does.  Cole isn't my real name, my real name is Kyle, but the one before Marcus thought Cole was better."  Cole leaned closer to her, "listen, we will give you a new name, and you won't like it.  But please listen, obey him, when you are called, listen, but in your heart, hold onto your real name, it'll help."  Courtney nodded.  "Your new names gonna be Cooco Puff, okay?"
"Coco...Puff?"
"Yes, it's cute and sassy." He wrote Coco puff ont he compact.  "Now, later tonight, Marcus is going to teach you your new name, alright?"
"...but...I know it."
"I know darling, but he wants to make sure.  When he asks your name, say Coco Puff, do NOT say Courtney.  He'll hurt you."  Cole stood up and pulled the back of his shirt up so Courtney could see teh scars up and down his back.  "He won't hurt you too bad, I got the worst."
"...I'm sorry..."  Cole smiled.
"You're so sweet, I'm gonn make sure to help you in anyway I can, alright?"  Courtney nodded.  Cole smirked, "my name is Cole, it's nice to meet you, and you are?"
"Coco Puff."  Courtney mumbled.
"Good, but speak up when Marcus talks to you, if it's a customer feel free to mumble."
"When can I go home?"
Cole swallowed the lump in his throat, "you can't honey....you could...if your father sold you himself....but he didn't, and your their property."
---
"What is your new name, my sweet?"  Marcus asked.
"Coco Puff."  She lanced at Cole, "master."  Marcus smiled brightly.
"Briliant, you did an amazing Job Cole."  Cole nodded happily.
"I try, sir."
Courtney, or now Coco Puff, was dressed in an adorable doll dress that fanned out at the bottom with little ruffles and lace.  Her eyes were adorned with a stuck on rhine-stone at the corners.  Her eye-lids nly had a soft layer or green and blue eye-shadow.  Her eyes, already a striking green, needed nothing else.  Coco stood infront of them, scared to move.  She wanted to rip of the rhine-stones and the dress and run home to Connor.  She didn't care about Daddy or Mommy, sh eloved Connor.
"Get her something to eat, she's looking a bit thin."  Marcus said, walking off.
Of course she was thin.  All the money her family had either went to booze, weed, coke or heroin.  She hadn't eaten in four days.  But she was used to it.  The only reason she lasted was because Connor gve up his food for her, he would sometimes go two weeks without a decent meal, or even a slice of bread.  Once, during the summer, Courtney had found five dollars, she bought a hamburger for her brother, when Daddy found out he tried to beat her sensless, Connor ended up taking the beating.
But it seemed now, Courtney was in for worse.
