Symmetry functions in sketchbook programs are enablers for the artistically lazy! But, on the other hand, they can be particularly helpful in learning certain things. Like, where to place the irises of eyes so that they DON'T look like your character is blind or derpy, like above...

I'm not a dragon fan, but this drawing is spot-on! :-)
He "looks blind or derpy"??? Don't see that. Most predators have that focused staring look -- part of what tends to screw up the prey's "run away" first instinct.
