Part of a series of theoretical Act 2 musics for Sonic 2, commissioned by strawberrytobin, it's my job to get them into the game and working using its sound engine.
Next on the list is Chemical Plant, another one that came out quite well. Had a bit of trouble at first with FL Studio's wonderful note labelling and a half-asleep brain, but that was fixed easily enough.
Another one with interesting things about it, namely the large pitch bends. While taking a look at how it was originally done, I was shocked and a little annoyed that it's just an alteration of the frequency in jumps rather than a smooth bend, with modulation over it to disguise how bad it sounds by itself. Of course, because this is an Act 2 mix, I used the same technique, despite how terrible it sounds. The second bend is better, as it uses smaller jumps, but still, meh.
Before anyone asks, this is actual emulator output. This isn't rendered from FL Studio using VOPM or anything similar.
