Part of a series of theoretical Act 2 musics for Sonic 2, commissioned by strawberrytobin, it's my job to get them into the game and working using its sound engine.
The first one done is Hill Top, which I think came out really well. I did this while on a serious caffeine rush, and with the world running at 50% to normal speed to me I ended up making it a lot quicker than I thought it would. The pitch bends were the hardest part to get right, but somehow they got done really quickly too.
After I'd remade it exactly as the original, some changes were made to it. It didn't match the level at all at the original speed, so it got slowed down closer to the original Act 1 music, the brass got a slight frequency change on one octave to, again, match the original Act 1 music, and some additional modulation was added where it couldn't be done easily in VOPM prior.
Before anyone asks, this is actual emulator output. This isn't rendered from FL Studio using VOPM or anything similar.
