This is the first version of Nero that I made using an online fursona creator. I thought it would be fun to post here to give furs here a chance to see how my sona came to be.
I chose the name "Nero" mostly because I really like the name. Nero's last name "Makai" (muck-eye) not Mack-ee or Mack-eye comes from the Makai insects in Yu-Yu-Hakusho, and just to me sounds really cool too.
Interestingly, Makai (魔界, lit. "Demon World") fits very well with Nero (Nrvnqsr) from a historical perspective as Emperor Nero was seen by early Christians as being "the beast of revelation".
From wikipedia: "...When transliterated into Hebrew נרון קסר (Nrwn Qsr) had a number of 666. The variant number 616 found in some manuscripts of the Greek text of Revelation may represent the alternative Hebrew spelling נרו קסר (Nrw Qsr) based on the Latin form 'Nero Caesar'".
So interestingly, and inadvertently, Nero Makai fits as both "the beast of revelation" and "demon world", and is very fitting considering one of my favorite series is now the Shin Megami Tensei series that deals with demons and destroying various gods including the biblical God YHVH. So the fact that I name all my protagonists in SMT after my sona really fits the nature of the game. SMT Nocturne especially worked with how you can become Lucifur's right hand man in his conquest to defeat YHVH.
Or maybe this wasn't inadvertent at all and I'm really the beast of revelation. O_O oooooh spooky!
The necklace around Nero's neck is supposed to be Tidus' symbol from FFX, but it has been turned into something a little different over time.
