Chapter 135 - A Cutthroat Meeting

"So, you girls really don't mind the place?" Chris asked while relaxing on the bed, Serenity snuggled up against his side while Rose lay on top of him. "I think it's neat." the rabbit nodded. "It has its charms." Alicia agreed, looking up at the lights in the sky while remaining next to the bed. "You pick place that have wall that keep humans out. It a perfect place for me." Serenity added. "Guess that means I was worried over nothing." Chris sighed. Looking at him for a moment, the girls faced another before glancing away. "Y-You really needn't concern over us to the degree that you do." Alicia point out. "Yeah... You're always doing things for us, thinking of places we'd like, where we'd wanna stay and stuff. You should do more for yourself. If you wanted this place, that's all that matters. We're happy no matter what as long as we're with you. Don't worry about us so much." Rose waved with a smile. "They right. I like wall, but should live where you want. You do things for us, do thing for self too." Serenity agreed. "Staying here suits us just fine. If you enjoy it, we'll do the same." Alicia affirmed as he looked at the three with a smirk. Raising up, Rose slid off him with a "whoop!" and sat next to him, Serenity letting out a whine and trying to pull him back down. "Come on, don't you want dinner?" he asked with a nervous smile, the Pokemon suddenly releasing him with an "okay!" and sitting up with a grin. "That was quick." he teased, causing Serenity to scowl with an agitated "hey..." in response. "Kidding kidding. I'm starving too." Chris assured while making his way off the bed, standing with Alicia and giving her side a rub, the snake looking down at him with a smile of her own. "What's on the menu again?" she asked.

"Mmm... Not really sure. I did see a place like I said, but I wouldn't mind looking around at some of the other nearby shops and stuff. I might do a little looking around, kinda spin the roulette and see what I come up with!" he grinned. "Roo-what?" Serenity asked. "Ah, right. Roulette is kinda like this giant wheel with pictures or words on it. You give it a spin, and whatever it lands on, that's what you get!" Chris explained, looking it up on his Pokedex and showing the girls a short video of people playing with one. "...You humans must be very bored creatures." Alicia muttered. "Hey, we're just creative! There's a difference." he scowled. "Anyway, yeah. I'm gonna do a little browsing, check out different places and see what looks best. I don't want you girls caught up in any surprises so would you mind staying behind this time? You can look around the place some more and settle in while I get our food." he suggested. "I-I dunno... I guess so? Will you be okay?" Rose asked. "I wouldn't mind staying but I have to ask the same. Are you certain you can handle things alone?" Alicia added. "Wadaya mean? I'm just looking at some places to eat. What could happen?" Chris shrugged, his statement causing the girls to look at one another warily before responding with a collective "exactly" making him blink with an "eh?" in response. "Thing ALWAYS happen, that problem. It not safe." Serenity point out. "Oh come on! I'm not going that far! There's places to eat at every turn around here! I'll go out, get something good, and come back!" Chris insisted. "It still not worth letting go alone. You need eye kept on." Serenity affirmed, pointing at her good eye. "I'm not a kid going out in the streets, give me a break..." he scowled. "Not on the outside maybe." Alicia reminded. "Don't start that!" Chris snapped, the snake sticking her tongue out and smirking.

"Anyway..." he grumbled. "I'll be fine, seriously. You girls just make yourselves comfortable and stuff." he waved. "You not going alone." Serenity insisted while grabbing his arm. "Humans waiting for you left and right. They surround you at any turn. Crowd you and smother. You get hurt if they get close way they did at gate!" she warned. "I with you, they know to stay back." she added. "I'm not exactly a tiny thing myself anymore. Humans know when they're outmatched. He doesn't necessarily need YOU to ward them off." Alicia point out. "You big but I make point to stay back much better." Serenity scoffed, Chris looking at the two and letting out a sigh while Rose smiled nervously. "I think you're turning this into a match for who gets to go out with him alone..." she point out, causing both to pause and look at her. "Now that you mention it..." Chris added, causing Serenity to suddenly let him go. "That not what it about! Just want him safe!" she affirmed. "Indeed, who goes with him doesn't matter." Alicia scowled. "That right, it who keep him safe best that matter. And that me!" Serenity smirked while pointing at herself with her thumb. "I think you mean me. Between the two of us, a short toothpick like you isn't much compared to yours truly." Alicia point out, holding her head high with a haughty appearance causing Serenity to growl before the two glared at one another. "Oy, I told you...!!" Chris started to respond, pausing when he noticed Rose at the door silently motioning for him to follow as the two started bickering over who was most capable of watching over him. Nodding, he warily made his way to the door while the two were distracted, exiting the room and making his way along.

"Thanks for that." he nodded as the rabbit took his hand. "Don't worry about it. Just be careful out there... I know you can handle yourself but still... We love you, that's all." Rose smiled. "Yeah, I know. I appreciate it at heart, but a guy DOES like to know his women feel he's capable enough to walk out his own door by himself." Chris laughed nervously while making his way downstairs. "By the way, what was it you rushed down here for a while ago?" the rabbit asked while looking toward the front door. "Ah, yeah. You know how you can look through the ceiling to see the lights? I wanted to make sure the sky was clear so the colors were shining ju--st right when we went into the room." Chris explained before they suddenly heard Serenity and Alicia shouting from above. "They really will fight about ANYTHING, won't they?" he smiled nervously. "When it's about you, yeah." Rose point out. "I guess it's flattering in its own way, long as they don't get...!!" he paused when they heard a loud thud. "Violent?" Rose asked, Chris responding with a "yeah" while sighing and opening the door. "I'll be back soon, okay? Don't worry." he assured, rubbing the rabbit on the head making her smile and nod before giving him a hug around the waist. "Be safe." she nodded. "No worries." he waved before stepping out. "You girls watch over the place and relax while I'm gone. And uh... Watch out. They might come after you for helping me escape." he warned with a nervous laugh. "I'll be okay. They might yell, but they'd never hurt me. They might get rough with one another, but they wouldn't seriously hurt themselves either." she assured before pausing and scratching her cheek. "Asides when they knock themselves out, but I think that's usually by accident..." she added.

"Well then, I'll be back soon." Chris smirked, rubbing her on the head again and bending down to give her a kiss on the forehead, making the rabbit jolt and blush while touching where he kissed as he walked toward the garage. "See you soon! Love ya!" he grinned, Rose waving with a shy smile before closing the door. "Alright, now to hitch a ride and do a little exploring." he muttered while entering the garage, Rapidash jolting before giving him a nod. "We're heading out on our own this time. You okay going for one more walk before calling it a night?" Chris asked, getting a second nod from the stallion while he gave him a pat on the side. "I'm gonna stick to my word and get you something good to for all the work you put in for us to get here." he winked, Rapidash giving him a curious look as he looked the horse over. Showing a smirk, Chris suddenly leaped onto the stallions back, causing Rapidash's eyes to widen while tensing up and making his mane shoot outward from the sudden act. "Woah there!! Easy big guy!" Chris shout with an arm up and his eye winced, the mane slowly dimming down as Rapidash looked back at him in agitation. "Still not close enough for that huh?" Chris smiled nervously, the horse grunting in a "no" manner. "I thought it couldn't hurt to ride out like this. Doesn't it feel better without using a saddle?" he asked, Rapidash facing forward while giving another, more "whatever" type of grunt. "Well, if you want I can walk myself. I thought this way would be kinda fun." Chris point out, the stallion glancing back before he started walking out of the garage. "There we go!" Chris grinned while the horse rolled his eyes in a "yeah, yeah" manner. Once they were far enough out, Chris made sure to secure the garage door behind them before continuing down the driveway and out onto the street.

"Really is a nice place..." he muttered, looking at their cabin with the windows now lit, taking on a warm and welcoming appearance as it glowed in the night. Noticing Rose at the living room window, the rabbit was watching him leave, smiling and giving him a wave. Smirking back, Chris gave her a wave as well before muttering "Lets find you some food..." and clicking his tongue, nudging Rapidash on the sides with his heels causing the stallion to move on in a trotting manner. "Easier to move around now, eh?" Chris grinned, Rapidash letting out another grunt in response as they made their way back toward the entrance of the resort. Passing by the office, the two heard Giovanni calling out, about to head into the building having returned from an outing himself with a bag in hand. "Ciao! Out looking around or leaving signore?" he asked. "Heading out to find us something to eat for dinner." Chris explained before sniffing the air. "Oohh, smells great." he sighed, Giovanni blinking with an "eh?" before looking at his bag and nodding. "Si! Dinner from one of my favorite bistros in the city! It's a delizioso dish called cassoulet, very common, but VERY good and the best thing for a chilly night like this. Many meats with beans too." he explained before kissing his fingers in a chef manner. "I must get it inside before it gets cold though. All of those reporters are gone now so it should be okay for you to leave. Mind yourself though!" he cautioned. "I appreciate it. Knowing the food around here smells that good makes me even more anxious to check places out around here!" Chris grinned. "You will need a VERY big stomach signore! Many places aren't to be missed for a traveler in this city!" Giovanni winked with an "OK" sign.

Nodding, Chris gave the man a wave before continuing toward the gates, slowing Rapidash down once they'd arrived to warily scan their surroundings before climbing off and using his card to open the exit. Trotting out first, the stallion waited for him to climb back on, watching the gate close behind them and heading off into the city streets. Back at the cabin, Rose remained at the window, looking at the snow glittering outside while relaxing with a satisfied sigh, continuing to enjoy the pine-like scent of their new home as well with a giggle before jolting when she heard the girls coming down. "Chris!! Where you at?!" Serenity shout while looking around as she stepped down. "It's rude to leave during a discussion!!" Alicia added, looking around as well as the two entered the living room. "...Where he go?" Serenity asked, scratching her head with an agitated look. "Boy, you got into it for a while this time." Rose smiled nervously. "Never mind that." Alicia replied, she and Serenity scowling at one another. "So where is he? Already outside?" the snake asked. "Well, kinda... Actually, he's already gone." Rose point out, causing both to jolt. "He what?!" Serenity snapped. "S-Sorry! He's already gone!" the rabbit panicked. "He wanted to go out on his own this time! It's not that big a deal." she assured. "Given everything that happens to him at every turn I beg to differ." Alicia reminded. "If he not have us those humans attack again!" Serenity added. "Th-They didn't attack him before! They just..." Rose tried to explain. "Tried to suffocate him?" Alicia scowled. Letting out a groan, Rose scratched her cheek from being on the receiving end of their frustration. "I thought you hated the idea of going back out anyway? Why do you wanna go out now?" the rabbit asked, looking up at Alicia.

"W-Well..." the snake muttered, glancing at Serenity before facing away. "For one after seeing those humans swarm in, it changed my mind a tad is all. He's too passive to make them leave him alone so there's no telling what another crowd may do without someone looking out for him." she point out. "That right!" Serenity agreed. "And...?" Rose asked, the snake showing another scowl. "It's dangerous to let him be alone with certain members of our group..." she grumbled. "HEY!!" Serenity snapped. "But first and foremost it's a matter of his well being." Alicia affirmed. "I not see why he have to just go out on own like that. He just walk off when we in middle of talking! What up with that?! We still here thinking he there, then find out he not there, he gone already! That messed up!" Serenity point out. "He just wanted to look around on his own a little... He told us to make ourselves comfortable. He's just thinking of us." Rose replied while poking her fingers. "Perhaps he's being considerate toward you since you've a fear of crowds and ruckus but we don't have any issues dealing with rebel rousers." Alicia affirmed. "Not sure what that mean but I not have problem taking care of humans who cause problem." Serenity added, punching her fist into her palm. Looking at her and Rose, Alicia slithered up to the window the rabbit had been gazing out from and took a look for herself, squinting her eyes with a quiet "hmm" causing Serenity and Rose to face the snake curiously. "What? Something out there?" Serenity asked. "No... I'm just wondering WHY it was so important for him to go out alone when normally HE'S the one insisting we do everything together..." she reminded.

"He just wants to surprise us with whatever we get for dinner." Rose shrugged. "That sound like him, he have habit of that." Serenity agreed. "I suppose... But think about it. Here he is, running off and leaving us behind out of nowhere without a word. And did you notice how he pretty much went straight from the entrance of the city to where we are now?" she point out. "So? It was a long trip. I wanted to call it a night too." Rose groaned in a slightly slumped posture from being on the carriage so much. "I feel same. I ready to get ride over with." Serenity nodded. "I'm just saying, it's a tad strange for him to hurry us off to this cabin of his THEN rush out all by himself back into the city..." Alicia explained. "A city with countless reporters wanting to speak with him, to interview him, countless people who live here wanting to see and speak to him. And we've been left here while he goes out and about, likely dealing with a fair bit of that along the way..." she added. "What you getting at?" Serenity scowled, standing with her hand on her hip with an agitated look. "Do you think it has something to do with those human children we met back at that village outside the city?" Alicia asked. "Wait, what?" Rose replied, tilting her head. "You try to say what they say bother him?" Serenity added. "Don't you find it a little strange we'd run into those children, then after that he rushes us here and runs off on his own?" the snake point out, Serenity and Rose looking at one another. "No way!" Serenity waved her hand. "That makes it sound like he's ashamed of us!" the rabbit added. "He'd never be ashamed..." she muttered, poking her fingers again. "Those children did say a few things that could've made him uncomfortable." Alicia affirmed.

"It's possible he's nervous to be with us in the city at the moment. Maybe he doesn't want all these people seeing us together since he's getting self conscious?" she suggested. "He not like that!" Serenity snapped, stomping her foot down. "I'm only making an assumption!!" Alicia snapped back. "But given his actions, it IS possible as to why we're here and he's out there..." she added. "Considering his behavior, even if we went out searching for him he'd probably try to rush us back here. Tell us to be all cozy while he does his thing out there..." she muttered. "That's not it! He just wants to be able to go out without feeling like we don't think he can handle himself!" Rose affirmed. "I was with him when he left so, yeah! That's what he said!" she added. "He just wants to prove he can be on his own is all." she point out, Serenity and Alicia looking at one another. "I guess that it..." Serenity replied, albeit with a suspicious tone in her voice while glancing away with her arms crossed. "Indeed... I suppose." Alicia agreed, glancing away as well as both showed a look of thought in their expressions. "Trust me! It's not because he's uncomfortable." Rose insisted, the two looking at her before looking out the window together. "So... Should we give chase and look after him?" Alicia asked. "That what want to do..." Serenity nodded, only for the two girls to look at one another and suddenly second guess his motives in their minds, glancing away from one another in an uncomfortable manner of their own while Rose looked at both and let out a sigh from between them, the two girls now hesitating to rush out as they pondered Chris's behavior. Returning to the window, the rabbit rest against the window seal while looking up at the swaying lights, the girls muttering to themselves behind her.

Out in the city, Chris enjoyed his trot along the streets atop Rapidash, giving the horse an occasional pat as they passed various shops and eateries. "Man... I don't think it's as big or crazy as Millennium was, but there's definitely a lot to see and a ton of folks to squeeze by." he smiled nervously, noticing others riding on horseback as well, some residents pulled along by carriage while many slowly made their way along by car and trolley. "It's kinda hard to tell what age we're in too. It feels like we went back a good hundred years or so, yet at the same time it's all modernized." he point out, watching as a guy on a moped slowly cruised around him before looking up at the Victorian rooftops above. "I gotta admit, the place reminds me of a mystery novel, kinda like Holmes... Or maybe one of those drama type things..." he added before looking at a nearby cafe with couples sitting at table outside its entrance, bundled up with hot drinks in hand. "Or a foreign romance!" he chuckled. "Depending on how you look at this place it can feel like a lot of things... It's way different than Millennium though." he muttered, looking up at the swaying lights high above the city. Continuing to browse the shops and restaurants, it wasn't long before he started catching the eyes of the locales and tourists alike, drawn in by his shiny Rapidash and familiar appearance from all the news and press coverage alike as he rode by, his face and coat raising curious eyebrows. "So uh... I guess gawking is how a city makes a guy feel welcome?" he laughed nervously, giving people a wave while making his way along. Eventually, he reached an intersection where an officer stood directing the traffic, the light above having shut off while crew worked on repairs.

"Now that's old school." Chris smirked, watching the man hold his hand out to drivers while motioning for others in an opposite direction to move with his other. Repeatedly blowing his whistle while instructing, the officer finally motioned for traffic in Chris's direction to move along, allowing him to trot by. However, as he passed the man, the officer took notice of the horses unique mane and lifted his gaze up to Chris, the sight of his face causing him to suddenly suck in his whistle by accident and go into a coughing fit. Startled by the reaction, Chris let out a bewildered "uhh..." before the struggling officer caused him to panic, shaking off his puzzled state as he halt the stallion and jumped off. "Hang on!! I gotcha!!" he assured, getting behind the officer and wrapping his arms around the mans body. With his hands against the center of the mans chest, Chris started pulling back, forcing the officer to urk several times before a good pull sent the whistle flying out of the mans mouth, allowing him to gasp for air as Chris released him and backed away. "Y-You okay there?" he asked with slight sweat on his face. With a hand held out, the officer coughed and continued catching his breath before letting out a groan and raising up, rubbing his throat and clearing it. Watching the two, Rapidash tilt his head with a puzzled look of his own before jolting when he noticed a crowd gathering around them, the traffic having paused causing Chris to look around as well, letting out a wary "wuh oh..." remark. "I-I was just helping! Really!" he assured with a nervous laugh, holding his hands up slightly out of fear they might think he was attacking the man before the officer suddenly took one of his hands with a strong pull and started rapidly shaking it, causing Chris to stumble with a wide eyed and startled expression.

"You helped my little girl hear!!" the man grinned. "I-I what?" Chris asked, remaining in a puzzled state as his shoulder became sore. "On the TV, you had to see her! She was on TV! That was my baby!!" he explained excitedly. "O-On TV sir? I don't...!!" Chris tried to reply, only to find himself yanked tightly into the officers arms. "Good man!! Damn good man!!" he praised as Chris's color turned before gasping when finally released, stumbling back from the officer only to find his back hammered by the man's large hand, unable to process what was happening. "I was dreadin' having to come out here like this tonight but now I see it was fate! Meeting the man who helped make the machine that changed my girls life... Come on, she was with her guy on TV! You had to see em'!" the officer point out. "M-Machine? TV? Guy?" Chris replied, blinking at the officer before trying to think back. "TV..." he muttered before jolting and remembering the broadcast back at the onsen. "Yeah... Yeah! I did see her!" he nodded before the officer took his hand and started shaking it again. "Thank you! Thank you SO much!" he laughed. "My little girl heard my voice for the first time in her life today! Over the phone we talked! I didn't think either of us would stop cr...!!" he went on, cut off when people on the streets started shouting and honking, wanting to continue on their way while the crowd around them blocked the streets as well, talking to one another about what they'd seen. Looking around, Chris noticed there were many people recording and taking pictures, causing him to tug his collar warily. "Oh boy..." he thought as the officer quickly returned to directing the traffic, ordering everyone out of the street in the process.

Getting Rapidash out of the way and onto the sidewalk, Chris rubbed his back with a groan and rubbed his shoulder, working it around and feeling as though it was nearly pulled out of its socket by the enthusiastic officer. "I'm officer Tibb's by the way! Thanks again!" the man shout while directing traffic. "N-Nice to meet you?" Chris smiled nervously. "I didn't do much though! I had the idea for the machine but the folks at the lab were the ones who made it happen. You should thank them the most!" he waved. "Either way, you were a part of it." Tibb's grinned while halting traffic in one direction and instructing another to move on. "From now on my little girl can hear all the sounds in the world like anyone else... It was great getting to meet and thank the man behind the machine!" Tibb's praised, causing Chris to scratch his cheek in a flattered manner. "Glad it's helping people. That's all that matters to me. I don't need any thanks for wanting to do what's right for others." he affirmed before climbing back on top of Rapidash, the horse letting out a grunt and trotting along once more. "Saving a cop and getting squeezed by em'... Definitely a good thing Serenity wasn't with me. She'd of killed BOTH of us for that." Chris laughed nervously, still having a hard time processing the random meeting as he heard Officer Tibb's shouting behind him, his whistle having been run over. "Might be a good thing he can't use it..." Chris muttered after Tibb's nearly choked to death on it. Letting out a sigh, Chris rolled his shoulder around again, letting out another groan as Rapidash trot along the block. Looking through the windows they passed, the two saw various shops and bakeries, with various types of restaurants sprinkled between them as people moved along around them, parting out of the stallions way while looking up at Chris curiously.

However, once they'd reached the end of the block, Chris found himself drawn in by the smell of a local pizzeria around the corner, stopping Rapidash as people walking in and out of the location caused the scents within to repeatedly waft out the doors. "Pizza... Yeah!! That's it!!" he grinned, steering the stallion toward the entrance and halting it next to the doors before climbing down. "They've got a TON of things you can put on this stuff. It'd be easy to get something for everyone in a place like this without going through a ton of menu's." he smirked, looking inside the window and noticing the old fashioned design within, complete with a massive brick oven in the back where workers were busily inserting and removing meals while customers both, dined at tables as others carried theirs out to go in bags designed to keep their food hot. "Never had em' like that before..." he muttered before nodding. "Alright! You okay waiting here for me?" he asked, looking at Rapidash and getting a nod. Giving a wave, Chris entered the pizzeria while looking around, everybody eating not only pizza but various pastas and the like the location served as well. Taking his place in line, he watched the cooks continuing to insert and remove orders from the brick oven, letting out a "neat" comment as those ahead of him made their requests and took numbers before moving aside to wait. Once it was finally his turn, Chris ordered a whopping six of the eateries largest pizza, having each stuffed with cheese in their crusts with three covered in various vegetables and fruits Rose and Alicia would like while having the other three covered in various meats and mushrooms. "Oh, extra cheese on the ones with meat!" he added just before the cashier filled his order, scanning his card and handing him his receipt along with his ticket number. Giving his thanks, he stepped aside as the others had and picked a spot against the nearby wall to relax, taking the time to look around the pizzeria more.

However, after a moment he couldn't help but notice a nearby Pokemon glaring him down, standing atop the back of a chair next to him with a little girl in its seat. Blinking at it, Chris raised an eyebrow before other customers went by, the Pokemon glaring them down as well depending on who was closest before returning its attention to Chris once he was the nearest person once again. "Don't you look wild..." he muttered before an elderly woman sitting across the table from the child reached out with a rolled up menu and gave the Pokemon a soft swat on the head, making it jolt and face her. "I've told you time and again not to glare at others like that, it's very rude." she lectured, the Pokemon looking around before nodding its head in an apologetic manner. "I apologize for the behavior." the woman added, looking at Chris causing him to wave his hand. "No worries." he smiled, watching as the little girl handed the Pokemon one of the hush puppies she'd been snacking on from a small basket on their table. "Good?" the child asked as the Pokemon started munching on the food, giving a nod in response. "You two seem pretty close. That's a feisty one for such a cute kid though." Chris point out. "That one has a wild streak toward others but when it comes to this child it's perfectly tame. She and myself are the only ones it trusts." the woman explained as the little girl looked back at Chris before pointing. "You're the TV guy..." she said quietly. "Eh? The TV guy?" he asked, pointing at himself. "Ah, you mean the broadcasts. Yeah... My name is Chris, Chris Nakazaki, and you are?" he replied, offering his hand as saying his name caused those around them to pause and stare, catching his attention.

However, as he looked around at those staring, he suddenly felt a sharp chomp around his hand, making him freeze wide eyed before slowly looking back at the girl, finding the Pokemon having snapped its teeth around his fingers with the little girl having paused in the middle of reaching for his hand, letting out a quiet "whoopsie..." as the elderly woman shot up. "Release! Release!" she demanded as the Pokemon glared at Chris in a furious manner, those around them gasping from the Pokemon attacking as the woman worked to pry the Pokemon's mouth open. Startled by its behavior, Chris was more surprised by the act itself then the pain from the bite as the woman finally freed his hand from the Pokemon's mouth, pulling it away and sitting back in her chair with the Pokemon in her arms, now gritting its teeth at him in a snarling manner. "D-Did I do something wrong?" he asked, looking at his hand now covered in bite marks. "I'm terribly sorry, this one is very protective of the child." the woman apologized before lecturing the Pokemon again, causing it to face away in an agitated manner. "I-It's kind of dangerous for a kid, isn't it...?" Chris asked, looking his hand over again with a "yeesh..." and rubbing it. "Bein' protective is fine but biting folks like that for no reason could get you guys in trouble." he added, thinking of how he has to keep Serenity at bay most of the time as well. "I speak from experience..." he muttered before noticing a duo of employees approaching. "That's your Pokemon, isn't it?" one of them asked. "I'm very sorry. I assure you it won't do that again." the woman apologized while the Pokemon glared at the employees, causing their eyes to twitch in agitation.

"We have a strict policy against wild Pokemon inside our restaurant. Considering it has already attacked a customer we should turn it over to the authorities." the other employee point out. "Now there's no need for that! I've already restrained it." the woman affirmed. "After the act." the first employee reminded. "I-It was doing it to protect me..." the little girl explained, both employees looking down at her making the child uneasy, this causing the Pokemon to show another enraged look. "H-Hey now. I'm the one it attacked." Chris affirmed. "We really apologize sir. Your order will be on us." one of the employees assured with a nod. "N-No, that's not it. I mean I'm the one it attacked, so it's only right I decide how charges are pressed." he explained, the employees looking at one another while the woman and child looked at him nervously. Looking at the two and the Pokemon in the woman's arms, he thought about Serenity again while looking at his hand and shaking his head. "I have a Pokemon that's the same way. Protective ones are hard to control. If you don't stay on your toes they could do anything to anyone, with or without cause... I admit it's the responsibility of the owners to keep it under tabs, but... I don't want any charges or anything." he shrugged, the little girl letting out a sigh and holding her arms out toward the Pokemon, causing it to wiggle out of the woman's arms and make its way across the table into hers. "I'll pay for my order and stuff. It didn't break skin or anything either, so forget about it." he point out, showing off his mark covered but otherwise normal hand. "It was just a warning bite I think... If it wanted to really do damage those tiny chompers could've easily took a finger or two." he added.

Looking at the Pokemon, he took notice of the massive mouth sprouting from the back of its head. "It could've done even worse with THAT so... I don't think it intended to really hurt me, it was just intimidation." he nodded, the Pokemon continuing to give him an agitated look. "Be that as it may, it's still too wild to be in a place like this. There are reasons our city works to get rid of species like that." one of the employees point out. "We'll still fill your order but we'll have to ask you to leave once it's delivered to your table. We'll bag everything for you." the second employee instructed, causing the child to sulk while the woman nodded with another apology. "Are you sure you don't want any action taken?" the first employee asked. "N-No, it's okay. I've been through way worse than a little bite on the hand anyway." he assured. "So we've seen." the second employee nodded before the two walked away, the surrounding people warily keeping distance from the Pokemon in the child's arms. "That makes another place..." the woman sighed, shaking her head and waving her finger at the Pokemon, causing it to cross its arms and face away with a scowl. "If you don't mind me asking... Why bring someone that behaves like that into places like this...? I mean, I have a Pokemon just like that one and I don't try to push more than necessary. It seems like trying your luck way too much..." Chris point out. "There's a long-standing bias against this species of Pokemon in our area, there are strong bias's against many species that linger around here. Over the years they've been reduced in numbers using various means... I'd like to try taming this one enough for others to see there is more to the species than they think." the woman explained.

"I'm sorry but... We haven't been introduced on our end... You've gone through being stared down, bitten, and had to stand up for us all without even knowing our names. I am Alexandra Aevna, and this is my granddaughter, little Anya Aevna." she explained. "It's nice to me...!!" Chris replied, about to reach out only to pause and pull his hand back with a nervous laugh, choosing to nod instead. "T-To meet you ma'am." he added warily, the Pokemon letting out a quiet grunt before being offered another hush puppy from Anya. Looking up at him, she said "thank you" quietly before turning back around, her back facing him. Looking down at the child, Chris couldn't help but find himself intrigued from her quiet and reserved behavior. "Forgive her, she has been through a lot." Alexandra explained. "No worries." he waved. About to say more, Chris found himself interrupted when a man suddenly pushed his way between him and the two at the table, standing against the wall while looking around warily. "Got some great people in this city..." Chris muttered, agitated over being shoved aside yet deciding to let it go. "It uh, was nice meeting you." he waved, Alexandra nodding silently as they waited for their order to come. "I do apologize again for the incident, you sure you don't need help?" she asked. "Nah, like I said, didn't even break skin." he assured, showing his hand before leaning against the wall again. Finding himself curious about the Pokemon however, he took out his Pokedex and put the device on mute before slyly obtaining a quick scan of it, his device taking a moment to analyze the data before popping up various images and details. "Ohh... Mawile eh...?" he muttered, looking over the info.

Seeing various descriptions mentioning of how it was dangerous, he noticed how it was labeled a Deceiver Pokemon, finding himself growing wary of it being so close with the child as well. Seeing the details on how its jaws sprouting from the back of its head could snap iron beams, he looked at his hand again and started feeling how lucky he was that it used its tiny mouth instead all the more, letting out a quiet "yeesh..." as more pictures and info appeared. While he was distracting himself with the information, he was suddenly brought out of his curious daze when the man next to him made an abrupt movement, pushing him over in the process right before he heard a panicked shout, Alexandra shouting her granddaughters name as Chris raised back up with an agitated look before noticing Anya struggling in the mans arm, now holding a knife up to her as customers around them panicked. "Nobody move or the kid gets it here and now!!" he threatened, Chris's eyes widening as Alexandra grit her teeth. "Who are you...? Who paid you?!!" she asked, almost as if it were expected. "Good questions lady, but I ain't here to give answers. I'm just pickin' up the package." he grinned. "How you and these other people behave depends on whether I kill her now or later... You wanna extend her life, best everybody stay nice and still." he ordered, slowly waving his knife toward the others in the restaurant with the tip pointed at people. Remaining behind the man from where he was pushed, Chris remained silent and still, sizing the man up before slowly removing his coat. Repeating her previous questions, Alexandra tried to reach out toward Anya, only for the man to jerk back with an "ah ah!" in response, touching the tip of the knife to Anya's throat. "Move again lady and I'll ram it through..." he grinned.

Changing his stance and readying himself to make a move, Chris held his coat in both hands in an outward manner, adjusting his position slightly depending on how the man moved in order to surprise him from behind. "Now, you good people just go on orderin' your food, havin' a good meal, and I'll take the runt here on a nice drive... Maybe somewhere out of town, a nice scenic ride." the man grinned before he started backing his way toward the rear exit, Chris quietly stepping around accordingly to remain behind him. Finally finding an opportunity as the man threatened the cooks, Chris made a leap toward his back and used his coat to blind the man, wrapping it around his upper body. "EVERYBODY OUT!!!" he shout, the customers and employees quickly doing as ordered while the man flailed and cursed in his grasp. Suddenly, there was a loud crunching sound heard from under the coat, causing the man to scream before dropping Anya to the floor, along with Mawile who was waiting for its own opportune moment. Shouting for the child to run, it did as told along with the Pokemon as the man slammed himself backwards against a wall, causing Chris to groan from the impact as both returning to Alexandra who lift her granddaughter into her arms with a sigh of relief. "Get the cops!!!" Chris ordered, getting a nod from the woman before she rushed out the entrance with her granddaughter still in arm, Mawile having climbed up atop her shoulders and riding out as well. Finally the man managed to hurl Chris off his body, yanking the coat off and tossing it aside before letting out a furious and profane "FUCK!!" and clutching his hand, bleeding profusely from where Mawile had sank its teeth in order to free Anya while Chris had him distracted.

"Gonna pay for that you little bastard!!" he threatened, gritting his teeth with a furious expression as Chris took on a defensive stance. "Dunno who you are but tryin' to do that, to a kid especially, doesn't fly." he replied. Looking around, the man showed a pulse of anger at seeing the pizzeria emptied, Anya and her grandmother having escaped in the crowd with everyone else. "You fucked up my job..." he growled, facing Chris again. "You had it coming pulling a stunt like that." he lectured, holding his hands out in a fighting manner. "Think you're fuckin' hot shit, don't ya?" the man growled before showing a grin and holding his knife out. "Ain't got nothin' to defend yourself with, pretty stupid to take on a guy like me." he exclaimed. "I think you've got it backwards. I've dealt with worse than you by far." Chris point out, causing the man's grin to fade. "You really are stupid... When a man like me has a knife like this, you beg to live, not piss me off even more." he sneered. "I don't beg for anything, especially from a douche bag like you." Chris sneered back, causing more pulses of anger to show on the mans face. "Actually, that's a name too good for you... You're lower than that." he added with a smug smirk, purposely egging on the man to keep him in the pizzeria. Practically trembling in fury, the man gripped his knife tightly and readied himself to attack. "I'm gonna get you kid..." he warned. "I might be younger than you going by your looks but I'm more of a man than you could hope to be. I'd call you a prick but even that's too good for you." Chris grinned, taking another shot at the man's pride causing his eye to twitch. "You had your chance to shut up!!" he warned before suddenly charging in Chris's direction.

As the attacker neared him, outside the event was already being recorded by onlookers, warily keeping at a safe distance outside the windows of the restaurant, some of which included journalists that had been at the location for a warm meal before the attack. Thrusting his knife out, the man took aim for Chris repeatedly, forcing him to stay on his toes and repeatedly dodge and shove the mans arm away. Due to their size differences, in some ways they both had different advantages, with Chris being shorter and faster while the man had greater reach. Thrusting and slashing about, the man overwhelmed him as he stumbled over chairs and tables, the man eventually managing to cut into Chris's arm with one of his swings causing Chris to shout and clutch his arm with a "fuck!!" comment, the man grinning. "What'sa matter?! Got anymore attitude?!!" the man laughed while continuing to attack. Having seen the events unfolding and watching things take place, Rapidash showed a wary look of his own outside with the customers and employees having gathered around him to watch. Backing away, the stallion faced the direction they'd come from and suddenly charged off, sprinting toward the location of the resort as Chris continued taking on the attacker within the pizzeria. "Don't get cocky!" Chris snapped, snatching up a nearby wooden pizza peel and smacking it across the mans face when he got close, getting a scream in response as the attacker stumbled back, clutching the side of his face with a "SHIT!!" before charging once more. Using the peel as a shield, Chris deflected several attempts the man made at stabbing him before being suddenly smashed into, causing Chris to drop it as he fell over a table.

"G-Gah..." he groaned before quickly shooting up, grabbing the mans wrist as the knife nearly went into his torso, the tip pressing against him before slowly being pushed back. "D-Damn it..." Chris growled. "Gonna leave you in pieces..." the man grinned before landing a solid punch across his face, causing him to stumble again. "Payback ya little bitch!!" the attacker laughed. "What are you doing?" Ninetales voice suddenly echoed in Chris's mind as the attacker tried landing more punches while slashing away, landing several more cuts and a blow with his fist in Chris's stomach, causing him to gasp before being slammed into a wall. "You could finish him easily, what are you doing?" Ninetales repeat, only for Chris to continue fighting back as he had. As the attack continued, back at the resort the girls sat in the living room together, taking turns flicking through the channels as Serenity repeatedly let out hisses and rubbed her temple. "You've been doing that for a little bit now... You okay?" Rose asked. "I not know. All of sudden start having weird feeling. It like having needles in head. Sting." Serenity explained. "That's a rather disturbing way of putting it." Alicia replied now, only for Serenity to let out another hiss while sitting up and grumbling. "I'm still surprised you two decided to stay here." the rabbit point out. "It's hard to chase after a man you think is ashamed of you." Alicia grumbled. "Want to but... Now it awkward thanks to snake." Serenity added, scowling at Alicia causing her to scowl back. "Why you have to say that?" she asked. "I was only SPECULATING is what I said!" the snake affirmed. "You sure you're gonna be okay though?" Rose asked, putting a hand on Serenity's back. "Yeah, not worry." Serenity assured with a wave before hissing and feeling her temple again. "It weird, just start feeling pain all of sudden..." she added.

Looking at Serenity for a moment, Rose and Alicia faced one another before continuing to go through the channels. Out in the city, Rapidash was rapidly approaching the resort where the girls were, finally reaching the gate before pacing back and forth in a finicky state. Luckily, a truck arrived and turned into where the entrance was, causing the gates to open before the truck started inching through. Taking his chance, Rapidash darted toward the back of the truck before jumping into the bed of it and leaping clear over the vehicle, startling those inside as the truck bounced and poking their heads out to see the stallion flying over them, their eyes widening as they watched the horse sprint off ahead of them, leaving the group blinking in a surprised manner from a random horse bounding over their vehicle. Heading for the cabin, it didn't take long for Rapidash to reach his goal as the girls continued seeing what was on, still trying to decide whether or not to go after Chris before they started hearing a call from outside. "You hear something?" Rose asked. "Not sure... Think so...!!" Serenity replied as the call grew louder. "I hear it too..." Alicia added, the girls looking at one another before Serenity and Rose made their way toward the window. Peering outside together, they saw Rapidash running up to the cabin. "That's weird... Where's Chris...?" the rabbit muttered before the stallion screeched to a halt before the window, the girls jolting back in surprise as Rapidash started stomping his hooves on the ground. Looking at one another, the two went outside to see what was going on, Alicia about to follow only to pause when she incidentally landed the channel on the news while setting the remote down, hearing something about locals catching video of a fight in the city.

Seeing what the report was about, outside Serenity and Rose were getting the details from Rapidash, causing their eyes to widen before Serenity suddenly clutched her head and let out a shout of pain, bending over while hissing causing the rabbit to panic. "Th-That why I feel pain...?" she groaned before the horse started rushing them into taking action. "We go now, you lead way!" Serenity ordered, Rapidash nodding before quickly darting off, Serenity shooting up in the air and giving chase leaving Rose with her arms out, intending to climb on the stallion only to be left with a cloud of snow in front of her. "U-Uh..." she muttered, blinking before stomping her foot down with a "HEY!!" as the two quickly vanished before hearing Alicia come out in a hysteric state, causing the rabbit to panic as well as the snake asked where the others were, Rose having to explain how they were left before the snake hurried her inside to the TV where video of what was happening in the pizzeria was broadcasting live, the coverage being sent in from locals and the media combined. Continuing to defend himself while keeping the attacker at bay, Chris did his best to avoid any further damage, having been cut several places along his arms and torso as both started sweating and running out of breath. "D-Damn bastard..." the man wheezed. "O-One to talk, tryin' to hurt a kid..." Chris wheezed back, the two glaring one another down before the man charged once more. Thrusting his arm out, the attacker found his arm trapped within Chris's, skillfully taking hold and twisting the man around with his arm yanked up behind him. "Gotcha!!" he exclaimed, only for the attacker to shove Chris backwards against a wall again, causing him to loose his grip before the man spun around and sent his knife slicing across Chris's face, causing him to shout and clutch the wound.

"Gonna cut out that cocky tongue..." the man laughed in an exhausted manner, wincing before looking at his still bleeding hand. "Fuckin' Pokemon!!" he shout before looking at Chris, only to be caught off guard with a powerful punch to the center of his face, sending the attacker falling back over a table with a gargled shout as Chris stood with his arm extended. "Gotcha..." he muttered, lowering his arm before hissing and holding the gash on his face. "Why are you fighting this way?" Ninetales echoed in his mind, only to be ignored as he faced the attacker as the main raised up, using a chair as leverage while clutching his own face. "DAMN PUNK!!!" he cursed, pulling his hand away showing his nose now bleeding as well. "You threatened to cut out my tongue, so I busted you in the face... It shut you up for a sec at least." Chris replied with a sneer of his own. Letting out a profane shout again, the attacker resumed his relentless assault, wildly hurling and thrusting his knife causing Chris to stumble about while doing his best to avoid any further damage. Finally finding his chance to deliver another blow of his own, Chris thrust his fist out only to force himself to retract it when Ninetales power engulfed it. "Shit...!!" he growled through is teeth, quickly shaking the energy away before dodging more attacks. "What are you doing?!" Ninetales snapped. "No powers!!" Chris finally answered, finding his chance to deliver another blow by suddenly snatching the mans wrist and flipping his body over his back, sending the attacker slamming down atop a table and splitting it in half, the blow causing the man to cough out blood.

Seeing this back at the cabin, Alicia and Rose cheered from seeing Chris flip the attacker while letting out noises of support in their Pokemon tongues, albeit raspy on the rabbits end. With the reporter suddenly announcing that police and medics were on their way to the scene, within the pizzeria Chris watched as the man weakly raised back up, coughing and wheezing yet refusing to give up as Chris stood ready to continue before feeling pain shooting through his arm from the wounds, causing him to clutch it with an agitated hiss. "Gonna do worse than that... You gonna DIE kid..." the man threatened. "You're all talk and no guts... Relying on a damned knife to win, you're just a coward." Chris growled back before the attacker tried unleashing another round of attacks. Finally beginning to hear the police approaching as sirens echoed, he and the man paused and looked out the window, realizing they were being watched and recorded causing both to let out a simultaneous "shit" from the discovery, the man not wanting to be caught on film while Chris didn't want the risk of the girls seeing the fight. However, the distraction let the attacker get the upper hand, resuming his attack as Chris kept his focus on the crowd before being slammed back against the wall and feeling the knife rammed against his side. Freezing up, he looked down at the knife wide eyed as the attacker grinned. "Gotcha..." he chuckled. Looking back at the man, he remained still before feeling the attacker release the weapon, stepping back as Chris fell to his knees, clutching the handle of the knife. "You put up a good fight, ya cocky bitch..." the man grinned, wiping the blood from his nose along his sleeve while standing over Chris, looking down confidently while the crowd outside gasped and the girls fell all the more into a hysterical state back at the cabin, Rose passing out on the floor next to the snake while Alicia screamed for him.

With the reporter announcing that Chris had been wounded, everyone watched as he remained on his knees, hunched over with his hands still on the handle of the knife. "Dead yet...?" the attacker asked, nudging Chris on the head with the tip of his foot before grinning again. "Too bad, was hoping to stab ya some more." he taunted before reaching down to retrieve his weapon. However, as he did Chris suddenly let out a furious shout and put all his strength into thrusting his head straight up against the attackers chin, shooting up with all the power his legs could muster sending the top of his head smashing into the mans chin, his eyes widening while letting out a garbled "URK!!!" before being sent up in the air, the impact likely breaking teeth and joints alike before he fell with a crash over a nearby chair. Standing straight, Chris looked down at the man before raising his arm and pulling the knife away from his side, having been narrowly missed and using the opportunity to fake being mortally wounded. "You've been served..." he sneered, tossing the mans knife into the table by the chair the man fell over and muttering "bastard" before stumbling back and sitting in a chair behind him, clutching the top of his head with a groan of pain while Alicia cheered back at the cabin, Rose raising up with a groan and seeing Chris still alive on the TV and cheering as well. "N-Nobody wins with a headbutt..." Chris hissed, looking over his butchered arms and torso as well. Feeling the fight was over, the crowd outside started poking their heads in the door while countless flashes went off, locals and reporters rapidly snapping countless shots of the scene just before police and medics arrived and quickly forced them aside, rushing into the pizzeria and pausing when they looked over the scene of the battle, noticing the unconscious attacker and the bloodied Chris near one another at opposite tables.

"About time..." he muttered, pointing at the man. "There's your guy... Still alive, just out co...!!" he tried to say, only to feel his head suddenly throb again forcing him to clutch it with another hiss. Looking at one another, Tibb's suddenly made his way in between the other officers, looking around and at the two. "Holy hell..." he muttered. "You, take care of the attacker. The rest of you, go over this place with a fine tooth comb and get Nakazaki there tended to." he instructed, snapping his fingers with a firm "move!!" as the officers and medics went to work, several gathering around the attacker and pulling him out of the pizzeria for medics to tend to under their supervision while the others scoured the pizzeria and gathered around Chris, the medics instructing him on what to do as the officers started examining the scene. "Dudes knife is on the table." he point out while removing his shirt. "You folks seen a girl named Anya? She okay?" he asked, looking at the officers. "Yeah, seen her myself. It was that child's grandmother that gave me the heads up on what was going on. Old girl ran quite a ways for her age to get my attention, with the child in her arms and a Pokemon weighing her down to boot. She was wheezing so hard it took me a minute to grasp what she was going on about." Tibb's replied. "You did a fair number on that guy, and to this place... Hard to say who did a number on who most though." he laughed. "I'm conscious I guess... The way I feel I kinda wish I wasn't." Chris replied, rubbing his head with another groan. "Managed to knock the guy out with a hard headbutt to the chin..." he explained. "Nobody wins with a...!!" Tibb's tried to point out, only for Chris to interrupt with an "I already said that" comment in response.

"We'll have to get details from you now that you've been involved in this though, same as Ms. Aevna since it was her granddaughter that was the target." Tibb's point out. "I figured as much... Just glad I was able to keep the guy here long enough to catch." Chris nodded, looking out the window as medics lift the attacker on a stretcher and placed him in an ambulance, some officers following in their cars while others returned to the pizzeria. "The man will be alright. Some of his teeth are missing so he may have swallowed them, or they could be in here somewhere. His jaw is broken on both sides as well, his nose is also broken." one of the officers explained. Whistling in response, Tibb's looked at Chris as medics put disinfectant on his wounds and bandaged him. "No wonder you've got a headache. You gave the man a total reconstruction on his face." Tibb's smirked. "Though not without him leaving some handiwork on yours too." he added. "He's showing signs of swelling on one side of his face as well and was bleeding fairly heavily out of his left hand." another officer point out. "The teeth and chin is from me headbutting him... The side of his face swelling is because I smacked him with a wooden pizza peel, the one laying over there..." Chris point out. "As far as his hand, the little girl had a Mawile that attacked his hand in order to set her free." he added, the officers pausing and looking at one another. "Looks like it got you too." one of the medics point out, looking his hand over. "As far as my hand goes that was an accident. Everything happened in kind of a rush." he explained, covering up for the Pokemon as they put disinfectant on his hand to be safe and bandaged it.

"Your knuckles are split, no signs of breakage though." another medic revealed, looking at his right hand. "Didn't even notice that... Probably from when I busted the guy's nose apart. During the fight he tried talking smack about cutting my tongue out and I kinda let my attitude get the better of me." Chris explained. Continuing going into detail, Chris went over all the events that had occurred and his involvement, describing the fight, what happened when and the like as medics continued treating his body, one pointing out swelling happening to his own face from being punched by the attacker as they dabbed cotton balls around the areas to disinfect and help prevent any further swelling. "Back here..." another medic mentioned, showing his back. "That's from something else, scars from a past fight." Chris explained. "You've been in some big scraps with marks like that. No wonder you handled the guy so well." Tibb's replied. "A knife doesn't make a person any more powerful or intimidating... Weapons just make people cowards if you ask me." Chris replied, looking at the knife sticking out of the table as an officer pulled it out using gloves and bagged it. "You use anything else in defense?" Tibb's asked. "Just that wooden pizza peel. The whole thing was captured so you've got plenty of evidence." Chris point out, noting everybody at the window and entrance. "No worries there for sure... Probably be one of the easiest cases I've had in years..." Tibb's muttered. "Thank God for modern technology, right?" he grinned, getting a nod from Chris before hissing when the medics dabbed the cotton along the gash on his face. Continuing to talk with Tibb's and the officers, the medics continued treating him as the others cleaned out the place of its evidence, photos shot of every inch and angle possible while those outside waited for their turn with Chris.

However, as everybody outside continued eagerly taking photos of their own and recording the event, there was a sudden explosion behind the crowd, causing both the onlookers outside and the teams within the pizzeria to jump and look toward where the noise came from, suddenly seeing people flying in the air left and right before Serenity showed up at the entrance, having thrown people out of her way with a reporter and a local in each of her hands as she looked around and saw Chris, causing her eyes to widen before she threw the men in her clutches aside and approached.

"Wuh oh..." Chris muttered, sweating as the Pokemon neared him...

Pokemon - Tale Of The Guardian Master - CH 134
Pokemon - Tale of the Guardian Master - CH 136
Some time ago, a young man named Chris, now 23, discovered he was chosen to carry a curse passed onto him through his bloodline by a Ninetales his grandfather saved long ago, having grabbed its sacred tails to save it from falling to its demise. Burdened with this fate, which the young man now calls a blessing, Chris accepts the life chosen for him and allows the curse to guide him freely in life, destined to forever put others before himself, to forever follow the path the curse guides him along towards those in need most...

Along his journey thus far, Chris has come across a Ralts who was abandoned by her former trainer for being blind, hurled off the edge of a cliff and left to die that has since evolved into a full fledged Gardevoir by his side, swearing her life to the young man with the mysterious and terrifying ability to use the power of a Shadow Pokemon, granting her the title of a mysterious new Shadow Hybrid... Also traveling by his side is a Snivy who has since become a Servine, abandoned by her former trainer for refusing to evolve after a terrifying battle she had with a Serperior that left her mentally scarred, resulting in her former trainer neglecting and starving her in an attempt to persuade her to evolve, until he finally left her to die as well followed by a Buneary who has since evolved into Lopunny, who's former trainer became enraged due to her refusal to battle and tried to kill her off when he discovered she could only evolve via friendship...

Chris has met many people and Pokemon alike along his journey, each left as inspired by his presence as the last... He's nearly sacrificed himself to save Gardevoir and Servine from a deadly attack by a pack of Houndoom, lead by a Mega formed leader by hurling himself off a cliff to catch the two and nearly dying... Resulting in his lengthy stay in a location called Millennium City where he provided a hospital full of children an awe inspiring play room full of wonders any child would adore... Saved thousands of Pokemon eggs from dying out when their colossal incubation system malfunctioned in one of the cities many centers, and it's the location he saved Lopunny when she was a Buneary from being struck by a massive truck after being hurled into the highway by her former trainer... He's met and inspired a kindhearted old butler named Gerald who served the group during their stay in the city, and even came across the mysterious N from the Pokemon series, inspiring even this strange person during his stay in the city resulting in Chris being deemed a man worthy of keeping an eye on...

Most recently, Chris had become a criminal during his efforts to free Lopunny from her former trainer altogether, having forced his way into the city's top prison the man was held within and taking not only the Pokeball belonging to Lopunny, but taking all of his other Pokeballs to free the Pokemon within them as well only to discover the mans father was the Warden of that very prison in the process. Finding himself intrigued by Chris, the Warden gave him a chance to avoid prison time by revealing he was also the city's Gym Leader, striking a deal that if he won he would be pardoned of all crimes and allowed to leave the city.

Before the day of the match arrived, Chris found himself becoming close friends with the city's top scientist, Professor Rose, and together along with her staff they managed to complete Project Celebi, a device that could transplant sight between two people without surgery! The project turned out to be a success after Chris offered the sight in his left eye to give Gardevoir the ability to see the world for the first time via her right!

After this, the time for his showdown with the Warden arrived, and after a lengthy two part battle, Chris turned out the victor with the support of all those attending the event and beyond... To thank them for fighting for his sake, Chris gave Gardevoir, Servine, and Lopunny their own unique names, gaining the titles Serenity, Alicia, and Rose respectively, with Lopunny being named after the professor who had done so much for the group during their stay in the city...

After regaining his freedom, Chris and the girls spent a week at Arthur and Angela's massive manor on the outskirts of the city, followed by a first class cruise aboard the brand new S.S. Guardian, the first pollutant free ship in the world relying solely on solar power reservoirs! With its maiden voyage celebrating the 100th anniversary of the loss of the R.M.S. Arceanic, fate played its hand along their way to Arcticu Valley and led the Guardian to the exact location of the ships wreckage. Attacked by a massive Gyarados swarm, the Guardian was sank to the bottom of the sea, protected by a barrier crafted by Serenity which resulted in the discovery of the remains of the legendary ship.

In turn, many truths came to light in the dark depths, and after garnering the aid of the souls aboard the remains of the vessel, the Guardian managed to return to the surface of the sea once more and the Gyarados were defeated! Criminals were justly punished, a company was repossessed, and Chris was given total ownership of the entirety of the Arceanic wreck site! And now, they've finally arrived at their destination, and many more adventures are about to unfold...

Awesome chapter but I have only one thing to say to you, "NOT COOL ENDING THIS CHAPTER ON A CLIFFHANGER THAT HUGE"

Looks like someone is in trouble! That was an amazing chapter. Waiting for the next and to see is serenity tears him a new one

Great chapter as always and Mawile made her appearance, finally!
I like the role you gave Rose. She is a good soul, supportive but not over supportive like the other two. One could think such a down to earth character would rarely push new thing into the story, but clearly Rose is different. Especially her lewd side (ch113).

It is sad to see, that Alicia still can’t trust Chris to the fullest. She got a talent in asking good questions and combining small puzzle pieces to a reasonable whole picture. Convincing the girls and me too, at least to a certain point in the chapter. Even making what she thinks clear without saying it directly: "That makes it sound like he's ashamed of us!" the rabbit added.
Looks like Chris still has some work to do, if one action out of character can make the girls so uncomfortable…
When Chris fought without Ninetales powers, I realized that Alicia must be wrong. He said it was because he wanted to prove that he is able to do stuff on his own… like he knew that something will happen. And later in the fight he refused to use Ninetales powers, proving that he really just wants to know if he can handle stuff alone.

At the beginning of his small lonesome journey in this chapter, where he met officer Tibb's, I thought Chris made the perfect decision going out alone. Chris thought it too. Otherwise there wouldn’t much left of Tibb's, because he triggers everything Serenity hates, humans, violence (strongly hugging Chris) and police uniforms.
I also thought that Serenity might have seen this moment on TV, because she likes to watch TV and Chris was filmed by the crowd. Combined with his popularity and the higher density of reporters in the town, my thought had potential... But it was not this moment, which had this combination of events… it was the fight Chris had.
She was even feeling it, like needles in her head. Although, I expected some reactions of her horn too. Anyways, after this chapter Serenity knows what this feeling is and can react faster next time. I wonder if this sense can expand to the other girls and their future kids, or if this will be exclusively for Chris.

Old girl ran quite a ways for her age
Alexandra and Anya Aevna seemed like important people, after all, they were attacked by an assassin/headhunter. How come Alexandra didn’t have a smartphone/Pokedex with her when she's such an important person?
That cliffhanger though.

“ I wanted to make sure the sky was clear”
Did he literally clear the sky from any cloud nearby? Or is this a way of saying he cleared the window for a better look. (Translation help)
[...]we don't have any issues dealing with rebel rousers." Alicia affirmed. "Not sure what that mean … " Serenity added[...]
Serenity I have the same problem… but fortunately I got a translator. >:D

It’s probably me, but I’m getting hungry every time you describe a dish.
