I've been putting off uploading this.
Actually I was putting off completing this entirely...
When I originally drew this it was in celebration of the marriage I had to my own redhead (who technically speaking wasn't Emily, the original person whom the charecter was created to represent was a different person) but I drew it.
And everytime I tried to work on it something bad would happen in my marriage and I couldn't finish it.
This drew on for years until my marriage finally collapsed.
This pic felt like a bad omen.
Recently I've been trying to motivate myself to finish the Gaz and Emily storyline that I started before my marriage (started back in highschool actually) with no marriage to ruin... what could possibly go wrong?
So I was motivated to finish it, and succeeded, but it was bittersweet... because the morning I woke up to find that the REAL Emily back in England had lost her husband, passed away peacefully in his sleep.
My heart's been broken for a few days, cos while the real Emily is not married to me SHE WAS married, to someone who loved her and made her life special. It didn't matter that she'd moved on and gotten married and had a kid....
As long as she was happy.
Now she's sadder than I can imagine.
I don't know if my art is cursed. But I hate that it's punishing her if it is.
I feel like L from Deathnote, except I'm drawing people and causing calamities.
If my marriage ends cos of a stupid pic, that's fine.
Leave Emily alone tho,she's done nothing to deserve this.
I'm sorry, this all sounds pretty delusional or whatever, but this keeps happening and I dunno whether I can continue drawing her or if it's gonna put her in danger.
Either way, put in a prayer or something for her. Gotta be hard to be a widow so young.
No-one deserves that... least of all her.
I'm gonna go back to drawing fursonas for a bit, that way there's no harm done.
