Even though the Formosan palace is well protected, there are still times when someone would try to break into the palace. Some try to break in for money and valuables, others are breaking in as assassins. This night a mercenary broke into Emiko's room, surprising the young fox awake. The intruder eyed the nude girl, and made a move towards her. Emiko screamed and scrambled out of her bed and ran to her mother's room. Meilani hearing Emiko's scream, got up and grabbed her sword. She saw her daughter run towards her followed by an intruder in their palace apartment.
A very awesome scene. It's always nice to see a mother who cares so much for her child, and who has the ability to defend them from any threat. I imagine that the intruder is about to learn a very sharp lesson on why you don't pick on helpless children, especially ones who live in a palace.
The artist has done a beautiful job with this pic, too. The child's fear as she clings to her mother is kind of heart-wrenching, but there's something that, at the same time, is very heartening about the mother's righteous fury. Great stuff and I'm really getting to be quite fond of these two!
