Firepower pinup for JustAnotherWolfFurry.

Once the standard issue service rifle of the Japanese Self Defense Force, the Howa Type 64 still sees service alongside its 5.56 NATO replacement, the Type 89. One of the unique features of the Type 64 is that while chambered for the 7.62 NATO cartridge, the Japanese military issues a reduced power round specifically for the rifle. This loading reduces recoil and extends the service life of the rifle; however, it can be be loaded with standard 7.62 NATO cartridges at the cost of increase wear on the rifle.
