Is it bad that I don't feel sad for Jules? I mean, he lost Sonia and Manic, but for some reason I just can't feel bad for him. I suppose that is because Sonic blames him for all that's wrong in his life, including the illness that's about to take his life at a very young age?

That's because you don't know his backstory. This comic is mostly about Sonic's life and how he struggles through life. That's why there's more sympathy for Sonic than Jules. Same with Aleena. We only see her in Sonic's point of view of how she's betrayed in the story and don't know her story. And the point that Sonic blames Jules also adds to make the reader think that Jules was different than everyone thought he was. Making some of the readers not see him as a father, but someone how was obsessed with wanting to know more about the emeralds for his own reasons.
