A planet in a far-off galaxy was dying but it's inhabitants couldn't leave, their technology was advance yes, but they were unable to send living beings to space for longer than a few months, their sun was going Supernova and the Ozkvin had no choice but to die along with their home.
To save themselves they sent DNA samples off into space in the hopes they would live on in some form or another. They were successful. Any creature injected or exposed to the original strain from one of these samples (an Ozkvin can only "infect" another by giving blood) becomes an Ozkvin!.
* - Ozkvin can also be likened to worms in appearance. * - Their skin is smooth. * - All senses (bar taste and touch) are not sensed through their antennae through some unknown means. * - They can't gain weight (or if they do VERY little) because it all gets burned up through their spontaneous mutations. * - Their mutations can be something as mundane as a longer neck or something very bizarre and sometimes horrific. (so yeah go nuts) * - Given how their antennae have taken over most functions the sudden mutation of, say, an eye can cause confusion to the individual. * - Ozkvin eggs look like this they move pre-birth and pre-hatching too. * - While not "pure-blood" Ozkvin's the way they produce "drones" gives a small insight into what a "pure" Ozkvins life/reproduction cycle may have been like or even how their planet worked on a social level.
