I don't think you do it on purpose, but sometimes when you explain how the other path could have gone, you word in a way that seems like it's trying to say "Why didn't you know these incredibly important facts that I made up for the story?" People should think about gather more information first before making decision...And story can't tell you what will happened if you choose either choice. What awaiting them in the end of each route. Because just like us in real life who can't know the future. Character in the story don't know it as well. People have top predict it with information and hint alone...

It feels like we're being burned for making a choice that the artist/author didn't want us to make based on a clue so vague, that interpretation could have gone in any direction then what the artist/author insinuated. In a "choose your own path" style story, this can kill the immersion if it's done too much. (It's a problem I've encountered many time's in projects like this.)
