Even in episode 1 of season 1 in the original show spike fell in love of sight right away with one of the ponies. Twilight was quite annoyed by that. Not because of love but rather busy and strange behaivour of this certain pony. To be successful try out finding out reason and the more for the little changeling queen ... IT IS NOT HER JOB. Sheesh. Rather trying to figure other people buisnesses she should get rid of her own primary quest. Really.
