Amanda Fuchs at Dogtona Beach
This is a drawing of my OC, Amanda Fuchs.  She is the female protagonist in a story I'm writing.  In this particular drawing, she's trying on a bikini for the first time in her life, she's 18 here, and has just received a compliment from the guy she's got a crush on.  This is the classic Betty Grable pose from the 1940s.  You'll note that Amanda doesn't have a tail.  This is because her species, humanimal, is a genetically engineered species that is the result of splicing human and mammalian DNA to create a species to replace humans as they slowly go extinct.

Oh, BTW, Amanda is NOT a tigress.  She is a red fox with tiger ancestry which showed up in her.

Amanda was drawn by Yamidog on Fur Affinity.  If you'd like to see some of her works, go to http://www.furaffinity.net/user/yamidog/, I'm sure she'd love the attention.

o3o not bad for a tiger foxu thing! *giggles*
Just out of curiousity.. Did you draw this or so? >w<

No, unfortunately, I didn't draw her.  I can only draw stick figures and I don't do them very well.  LOL.  Actually, she's a tiger-striped red fox.  She's got tiger ancestry on both sides of her family, six generations on her mother's side and five generations on her father's.

Ahh I see o3o did you commission for her to get drawn or so then?
But I see! Odd fox, but very cute and I like no tail~

Yes, I commissioned an artist from Fur Affinity by the name of Yamidog to do her for me.  Yamidog is a fantastic artist.  If you can describe your character in detail, she can do the drawing.

Most of my "anthro" characters have no tail.  I've never understood the necessity of a tail on a bipedal character, other than to increase the cute factor of the character.  LOL.  I've also never understood the digitigrade on anthros.  It always seems so unstable to me; but, once again, it may be the cute factor.  I don't know.

Mm, I see~! Well at this time I don't really have money, but... One thing I do have is characters~! In fact, my Alice kitten (( who's on FA )) is actually pretty intrigued by this Amanda, and really wants to know more about her <3

But yeah I could see that too, hehe~ Often times in my RP's, tails aren't even mentioned so much, though most could be seen as cute or playful x3 I do prefer rounded, only booty butt~ >//w//<

I'd be happy to tell Alice about Amanda.  Tell Alice that Amanda is a 19 y.o. humanimal.  The humanimals were created in the era that would be the 23rd Century.  They were created because an eco-terrorist group genetically altered the HIV making it into an airborne virus.  The purpose of the virus was to cause the extinction of the human species.  When the leaders of the world realized what was happening they authorized the attempt to either find a cure for the virus or create a replacement species.  When the cure couldn't be found, attempts were made to create the replacement species.  Eventually, the humanimals were created by splicing human and animal DNA.  Attempts were made to splice every known species and it was discovered that only mammals would accept human DNA and then, only non-ungulate land mammals.  The human DNA gives the humanimals a body that, except for external appearances, is exactly like a human's in every physical respect.

Amanda lives in what would be the 221st Century.  Six generations ago, her mother's great-great-great grandfather married a Siberian tigress.  Five generations ago, her father's great-great grandfather married a Javan tigress.  Since those unions, every direct bloodline ancestor married a red fox thereby diluting the tiger DNA.  However, due to the a quirk in the humanimal DNA, even though the tiger DNA was diluted, because both parents carried it, it was possible that one of their children could possibly be born looking like a tiger.  Amanda looks like she does because of this.

Because of Amanda's looks, her mother was accused of cheating on her husband.  Amanda's father never once believed this because he knew his wife.  Amanda's mother is a speciesist, plain and simple, and because of this, she would never be involved with anyone who wasn't a red fox plus, Ophelia also believes in the sanctity of marriage.  However, because of all the accusations, Ophelia never really treated Amanda with the love she needed and deserved.

Amanda met the man she loves quite by accident when she, literally, ran into him at work one day.  He is a human named Michael Thomson (yes, like the gazelle).  That, by the way, is a running joke in the story that Amanda is in.

Humanimal females go into heat every 13 weeks.  They aren't any more fertile during their heat; they're just more sexually receptive, especially where the man they love is concerned.  Their human DNA allows them to be sexually active year round just like humans.  Whenever Amanda goes into heat, she does everything she can think of to get Michael's attention, including parading around in front of him in the nude.  Michael, on the other hand, was born in the 21st Century, almost 200 years before the creation of the humanimals.  Therefore, he sees humanimals as animals that look human instead of humans that look like animals.

If there is anything else Alice would like to know about Amanda, please feel free to contact me and ask.  I'll be more than happy to tell Alice anything else that she'd like to know about Amanda.

owo well that was a handful to read.. But! That was all quite a good story as well~! *giggles* With the creation of humanimals, things seemed like they've done quite a lot.. Not to mention being a fox that looks like a tiger is pretty cute too <3

*Alice squirms and blushes* <3 ~ She is unique! Hehe.. Stinks that she's already taken, but.. I still quite like her a bit ^//w//^ Is there any more story to her afterwards or so?

Oh, there's a full story that I'm working on.  Amanda and Michael are sent to Jaguarville to purchase a new computer system for the company that they work for.  While they're in Jaguarville, Michael and Amanda decide to go to the beach.  They go to a story to purchase her a swimsuit.  This picture is from that scene.  The picture titled "Amanda Fuchs at Dogtona Beach" shows Amanda sitting on a seawall at Dogtona Beach seeing Michael in his swimsuit, the first time she's ever seen him in any state of undress.

Amanda is in heat while she and Michael are in Jaguarville and she begs Michael to make love to her which he refuses to do because she's a virgin and he respects her, and her future husband, too much to do that to her.  However, he allows her to sleep in his bed so long as she is fully clothed.  She hates this idea but agrees just so she can spend time in bed with Michael.

While they are in Jaguarville, there is a misunderstanding and Amanda thinks the Michael has fallen in love with someone else.  During this misunderstanding, Michael confesses that he's fallen love with her and, for the first time since they met, Michael initiates a kiss between the two of them.  After returning to Catlanna, Amanda discovers that her mother arranged a marriage between her and an Arctic fox named Reginald Reynard, III.  She doesn't want to marry him and, after an engagement party, she winds up in the hospital for five months.  Michael saves her from this marriage by finding a loophole in the marriage contract.

Oh mai owo That's also quite a story too, hmhm~ <3 Looks like it's working out for em though, but dang.. >w>
Michael's a pretty respectful guy indeed! If Alice was there, he'd be all over that lovely Amanda, since cuteness.. <3 But anyways.. They planned to get married now I assume? o3o

Well, before Amanda learns about her arranged marriage, Michael actually suggests them getting married.  I'd have to look at the story again to be certain exactly how Michael mentioned it but it was more in a, "Suppose we got married" thing.

Oooh, okay~! *giggles* And I assume you wrote all this story as well? owo

*Alice sneaks in and nuzzle nuzzles Amanda* >//w//> I must steal you..

Actually, yes, I did write it.  I got the idea from reading Sabrina-Online.  I got to thinking one day, a dangerous thought in itself, and asked myself, "What if everything we read here is real?  What if it just takes place at a different time than the one we're living it?  What would that be like?"  The next thing I knew, I was about halfway through writing the story.  Now, I'm almost finished and I realized that I was writing in the first person and it would be a better story from the third person.  Now, I've got to rewrite the whole story, well 250 pages worth anyway, to change it to the third person.  I'll get it done and then I'll upload it to DA and FA.

Well deng, 250 pages worth of story is quite a lot between these two >//w//< Alice swooping in suddenly probably can't match up to it.. Heh.. Quite nice! <3 In first person, is the story at Amanda's point of view?

Also.. Let me huggle you! >//w//<

If you ever saw the old Dragon Ball cartoon, it has a little boy in it with a monkey tail. In it was shown that he used it for balance. He was a little more off balance without it for a time, when someone cut it off of him.

As for humans not having a tail, I am not too sure why not. We, as some believe, are part of the ape family. And that all apes are a cut off from the monkey or lemur family, and both of them have tails, though apes do not.

Actually, in some parts of the world, and even in areas not all that talked about, some humans have been born with a tale. Though with most of them, it is surgically removed after birth, to help keep them what is thought of as normal, and is thought will cause some mental, and even some physical complications as the person gets older.

Yes, with some people, mostly furies, we do have a fondness with the idea of having a tail, even if it only serves as an aesthetic addition some may enjoy seeing. Though I would say, it also may indeed serve as a help in balancing one's self. Mostly while standing on some digitigrade legs.

Again even digitigrade legs can serve a purpose outside of any pleasing aesthetics some may enjoy with seeing them. That would be with speed and some possible agility. And some extra jumping power. True, they can be thought of as being harder to stand on, and is possibly why we don't have them, when most other mammals do.

But aside from the balance factor, one I think can be overcome with practice, digitigrade legs I think could add to one's physical abilities. An enhanced stride while walking for another advantage to them.

On another down side to digitigrade legs, aside from the balance thing, is they can put greater strain on some of the joints. Most notably is the hips and nees, partly due the the lack of good balance support.

As for the thing is question, if one was to be rebuilt, biological wise, a form of foot by a few has been devised to help with the lack of balance one can get from having digitigrade legs, and without needing a tail.

It is a foot with three or four toes in front. Those are primarily used while moving quickly. And each foot would have an extra two big thumb like toe on both sides that curve to the back and sides of the foot as a helper wile waking or standing. Of course adding a tale for some extra stability won't hurt either. ^.^

As for how this would work, the brain of such a being would adapt to its form, and would just know what to do after some practice with them, just as we learn how to walk. Hell, people have learned how to use digitigrade type legs to improve getting around and for sport, just look up those that use what is called Power Risers and the Robo Boots.
Spring stilts video 1
Spring stilts video 2
Spring stilts video 2

There was an old animation of a blue robot with legs like this. Link:
I so wish I sill had the video. It has everything to do with digitigrade legs I was talking about. How it could move was amazing!
Well beyond what our human legs can do.

I could go on with this subject, as is a vary bad habit of mine with near any subject. So I will just stop here. ^.^

I found it. Was real hard to find.
As cool as this thing looks, I think some modifications would need to be made so it could walk on stairs well. Or it not be any better on them then Ed 209 on Robocop.
NEO-alive with passion.

Would be real awesome if robots could move like this some day. Though what we may have them do I think is far more important.

And I do wish I could find the alien looking foot I saw a wile back that would work well with those kind of legs. They would help on most any type of land, even stairs. I am just lucky I found this video at all though.

As for this drawing, very nice! Sorry for not saying so earlier.

The idea of what she is, is unusual, but interesting just the same. A fem fox with tiger features due to her mixed genetics.

I remember a short story of a guy that won a fem fox-morph pet companion. In the story it was illegal to create something that used any human DNA at all. And what he got was something quite new, and looked very human. And she was nothing he could have afforded outside of wining her.

Long story short, the company that made her and several others was closed out, due to having used human DNA as a base for her. Is why she looked so human, aside from her face and having a tail. Even the guy that got her questioned her looks and intelligence as being too human for something that was suppose to be made entirely from animal DNA only.

I don't think we will see anything like this in my life time, but I do think one day it be possible. The big question would be, is what would we be making them for?

It is sad to think, depending on their over all intelligence, that they be made as slaves of some sort. I would rather have a well developed AI to control slaves. And anything with an organic mind made of anything living, and has an emotion based thinking, never to be made as any type of slave force.

But as slaves, is how many stories state why many such as her was made in the first place. Thought also in such stories, in time, slavery of them is usually banned, and they live more freely after. Well, as free as many humans are allowed to live. ^.^

Some feel that because we have to work for a living that we are slaves to money, and the need to have it. A need for it setup by those that felt they most benefit from that setup.

Sorry again, starting to ramble.

Thanks for the huggle.  No, the story was originally written from Michael's POV.  In the story, Michael is 20,022 y.o. because he was put into suspended animation when he contracted the aforementioned virus.  When he awoke, he was looking into the faces of a lion and a tiger.  He was so shocked that he didn't notice that they were wearing lab coats and talking to each other.

I'd tell you more but I have to head off to work.  I'll give you more info when I return this evening.

I had gotten a fox vibe from the socks she has on her arms and legs. Also the shape of her ears.
MviluUatusun
6 years, 2 months ago
Yeah.  When the artist asked how I wanted her to look, I made it a point to have Amanda have the gloves, stockings and ears of a fox.  I recently commissioned the artist to redo Amanda and make her look more like a striped fox than a tigress with gloves, stockings and ears of a fox.  Other than the stripes, Amanda will keep her golden amber eyes, except that she'll have a fox's oval pupils.  Oh, yeah, she'll have a striped fox tail.  Ever since I created her, I've wondered what Amanda would look like if she was more like the "typical" anthro character.

If it's anything I have learned, it's that there is nothing typical in the furry fandom :D

Well, one thing I've noticed about 90% of anthro characters is the fact that they have tails.  If you'll note, Amanda doesn't have one nor do any of my anthros.  That's why I decided to commission a drawing of her having a tail.

Thanks.  She was drawn by Yamidog on FA.  http://www.furaffinity.net/user/yamidog/, if you'd like to see more of her work.  (I forgot to put who drew her for me in the description.  I'm going to remedy that right now.)

BTW, thanks for the watch and adding two of the drawings of Amanda to your favorites.  I've got another one of her in a fox form, if you're interested.  All three of those drawings were done by the same artist.

I'm sure she'll appreciate it.  She's a good artist who pays attention to detail, as you can see in the drawings she did for me.
