The Mindy Show Episode 5: The Birth of the “Ponchocat”
It was the last day of summer vacation when Mindy woke up saying “Today is the last day of summer vacation and the final free day I can get to explore this Virtuoso nonsense. Stella and Karlina has my interest peaked, but I don’t know where to go.” Mindy then slipped out of her bed clothes and into her long t-shirt and short shorts saying to herself “Kashina knew Virtuoso, she might know my next move.”
After getting dressed, Mindy came down the stairs to see Kashina packing as Mindy says “Hi, where are you heading? I also need help with Virtuoso and I heard the stories and legends of her exploits, but where can I go to get the most info.” “Well, I’m heading to Pandaria to pick up a Pandaren we adopted and if you want to know about Virtuoso, I say head to the old St. Sylvania’s Medical Center, it’s an old Paladin ran hospital that was abandoned after they were ran out of Flarth. The old hospital houses a group of Penitatas calling themselves the “Defenders of San Sanzabar”, the group was founded by Virtuoso as a way to protect Penitatas. That would be the place to go, but before you can enter you need a letter from a member and…” Kashina writes the letter and hands it to her saying to Mindy, “Hand this to them and they should let you in. I am a secret member of the team since I side with the Penitatas. Well I got to catch the spaceship to Shang Milan and that letter is a hinge in this whole war.” Kashina then gets her luggage and rush into the elevator as Mindy says “Well, to get a better grip on Virtuoso I must get to the “Defenders of San Sanzabar”, a group founded by Virtuoso. I should bring along Saevi, she would love to see the HQ of the Defenders.” Mindy then leaves through the elevator.
Outside Saevi’s apartment, Mindy arrives and sits on the stoop after pressing the button. “So will Saevi like the HQ”, she says to herself, “It’s been a good summer with her and…” Mindy was interrupted by Saevi coming out saying “Hi, Mindy, it’s been a while since July 15th’s Ka-Boom Days Festival, do you mind if I take a close friend of mine with me?” “Sure”, answers Mindy, “Who do you want to bring along?” “A friend I met earlier”, answers Saevi as Tajari came out. “Hi, Saevi”, says Tajari as afterwards he looks at Mindy, “I take it you know this guy?” Mindy says to him “Girl.” Tajari corrects himself “Girl?” Saevi answers smiling “This is Mindy, we been friends since we both became Penitatas and we’re even family.” “Well, any friend of Saevi’s is a friend of mine. I’m Tajari Firedrinker, a former ninja accused of assassinating Emperor Fireflower”, introduces Tajari to Mindy. “Mindy Pincushion and I was a hacker named Hackerella. We are heading to the old St. Sylvania Medical Center to meet with “The Defenders of San Sanzabar”. I’m the reincarnation of the legendary Ponchocat, also known as Virtuoso and I have to meet with the Defenders to learn about her”, says Mindy to Tajari. “Man, the Penitatas of Legend, she defeated the Empire single handedly”, said Tajari nerdgasming. “Daylights burning so let’s get going”, says Mindy as they head towards the Medical Center. “So Mindy is the reincarnation of the hero of the Penitatas, we could use her to push the ninjas out of Flarth”, said a mysterious Penitatas wearing Starfleet clothing out of earshot of them. “So, the Gattoian is Virtuoso’s reincarnation, we could use her help to bring the Paladins back in Flarth like they should be”, said a mysterious mouse also out of earshot.
At the old paladin, medical center, they arrived exactly when a Pandaren was exiting the medical center with a female Sourisian wearing a cat hat as he says “Hi, I take it you are the special visitor Kashina mentioned”. Mindy hands him the letter saying “Yep and these two are with me.” “So you came here to learn about Virtuoso. We have all of Virtuoso’s accomplishments here. Virtuoso founded the “Defenders of San Sanzabar” in 13 A.B. and lead the team for five years before the War with that stupid lizard. She traveled with a Bunerean named Blueberry and a Pandaren named Adolph and fought to the huge lizard and all three died against him with evil ninja Pincushion watching. Danny wanted to fight back, but he knew that there would be four dead bodies that day if he did anything and the incident was the turning point where he wanted to do right. He was determined to end that lizard and that’s how he and Kashina met. Enough about them two, Virtuoso was a glorious hero which all Penitatas looked up to. She went to San Sanzabar Public School, which was closed down recently, and taught us that no matter what the level of Penitatas, they can be important. She befriended a grey Volpeoian who loved her for a bit, a pink Volpeoian who raped her, a white Sourisian who she was close to, and a yellow Erizoian who was described as a cry baby. All her friends, but Stella Catherine abandoned her and of course Blueberry and Adolph died alongside her. Guards, escort Miley to Bland Burger because I got to show Mindy the Hall of Virtuoso as Kashina has directed me to and your friends can come and see her history. Oh, and by the way the name is William, but Miley calls me Adolph because she confused me for my deceased brother”, explained William Pandie as he leads the three into “The Hall of Virtuoso, a huge museum dedicated to Virtuoso’s past accomplishments.
Inside the museum, Mindy looks around and says “Man, William, this place is huge.” “Thanks, and you can call me Adolph because I got used to being called that. Follow me to the main exhibit in the museum”, says Adolph as he leads the Gattoian to Virtuoso’s main weapon and poncho, “Hopefully you are a hell of a lot more enthused than that Van Shire that was here recently, so forceful and always want me to get to the fucking point. This case contains the poncho she wore during the last meeting with the Defenders, it was her favorite poncho because it was the one another cat gave her and turned her onto ponchos and the weapon beside it was a prototype weapon that she made and tested called Shimmerstrike Mk. II, Shimmerstrike Mk. I was Virtuoso’s weapon of choice and wanted to make her a sister in case something happened to her. She taken Shimmerstrike Mk. I to battle and left Shimmerstrike Mk. II here. Virtuoso died in that battle leaving these two item here and now they belong to you since Poncho didn’t want them.” Adolph then opens the case and takes the items out saying “You are now chosen to continue Virtuoso’s destiny of helping Penitatas.” Mindy then put on the poncho and put the lightsaber to her side saying to Adolph, “I’ll take the mission and thanks for giving me all the info about Virtuoso, I may not be her but I will be as good as she was.”
After a few hours, the three leave the medical hospital and is met by a silver Volpeoian wearing Starfleet clothing and he says to Mindy, “Hi, my name is Ken Powers and I lead the Penitatas section of Starfleet and I want to meet with Miley.” “Sorry, she is not home right now.”, answers Mindy. “Maybe you could help me later?”, asked Ken Powers. “Uh, yeah we will help each other later”, says Mindy as she walks past him and then she is met by a non-Penitatas Sourisian in ninja garb and he tells her, “Hi, I’m Konnor Shadowpaw, Sharon and Kashina’s younger brother and I want to meet with Miley.” “Well, Konnor, I can help you there, but why meet with her”, asked Mindy. “Well, I want to partner up with the Defenders to help the ninjas and also bring the Paladins back to Flarth and restore the power balance”, explains Konnor. “Well, I need time to think about it.” She then walks back to her Penthouse parting ways with Saevi and Tajari.
