I've decided to work on some digital art today. Converting some good enough sketches into digital pieces. Today I did Sky Bluewing.
This was a drawing I did many months ago actually (almost a year ago), but the mood finally struck me to color it in. I have a makeshift sketchbook full of drawings I did over the past year, but I don't think I'll color all of them in. Just some of them.
Sky Bluewing is the first Starmaninjian partner Kao meets in his adventures. He fell from the sky due to a horrible storm and broke one of his wings upon landing on a tree outside Kao's home. From then on, Kao and Sky become very fast friends and utilize their talents to defeat the Generic Shadows, save Sky's homeland, and eventually stop the Intruders.
Unknown to Kao and several others, Sky is both the descendant of Celestia Talza and Selyra Ratzu. He himself doesn't actually know it though until his father tells him shortly after Kia sacrifices herself. He eventually has a son named Angel Bluewolf, who later on has a son named Cloud Bluewing, a partner of Rhozen and Raisha, showing that Kao and Sky's connection goes beyond the generations in both directions.
Sky having the blood of two deities is kind of huge, but the goddesses keep their identites so secret anyway that Sky wouldn't have known about it if Kao didn't ultimately have to reveal to him who he truly was supposed to be. Despite that, Sky doesn't really have the powers that the goddesses have, but he retains Selyra's extreme intellect and Celestia's kind, protective nature.
The massive sword he holds is a gift from his father so he can protect himself (since he was mostly raised to not fight if he could avoid it...he couldn't avoid it). The sword is as big as it appears. Sky is about the same height as Kao, but his Tsuni side makes him semi feral. Despite the normal weight of the sword, Sky has no problem lifting it because his father surrounded it by a constant whirlwind to keep it light.
Sky is ground-a-phobic. Because of his impact in the tree breaking his wing, he has a phobia of walking on hard surfaces. The only way he ever touches the ground, even in game, is if he's knocked out. Even when sleeping he tends to float just above the ground (though canonically, he does sleep usually on a cloud or a whirlwind bed).
Finally, his busted wing is the reason he's unable to fly forever in his first adventure. It does heal by his second one and on, but by then, flight is no longer planned to be a restrictive based gimmick.
h'es alwasy one of my most favourite of our galaxy's characters...he still looks to me as the perfect full-god-like counterpart of Kao for some reason (even tho Kao IS a Deity himself somehow) or maybe the beginning of a god-like Wolves Legacy ! i still get fascinated by him a lot!

Sky is a very enigmatic yet wonderful Starmaninjian! The fact that he's the descendant of Selyra and Celestia (grandson of both) really shows how much of a literal angel he is. All the way to the ironic massive sword he carries, he is as sweet as can be and I'm so looking forward to the day I can show what he's like during the adventures!
