I would've originally said that that was simply hasty, abrasive and a tad harsh, but after reading that the person contacted you on Discord and told you to die in a ditch for ruining their [what I assume] favorite fictional character, yeah this person seems like someone to avoid. When you make an ask blog, it's best to at least have simple or basic question guidelines so it prevents most situations like this; it also helps to not get snippy at people who may not know what that you're not comfortable with such subject matters or content.

If I were you, I'd block them back and avoid future contact with them if they're going to act like this towards you.

The one thing I will say about your end of things is that I wouldn't have made the post on tumblr, as that really only serves to get others on the site involved at best and escalate the situation at worst.
