This was a super fun project. I first designed the skull in 3D in MayaLT. Then I used Pepakura to print it out, and assemble it. Then I added layers of paper mache until it was rigid and a little more smoothed out. Then I started adding layers of acrylic paint and sand to give it a rough thick patina as if it had been left out and beat up for years. The copper wasn't as exposed as I had wanted it to be, but I still loved the way the varying colors of patina worked out.
