The only centaurs that exist in nature are the preying mantises (or manti ?).
The front legs are not used for walking, but for seizing & holding prey. The prothorax is elongated and distinct from the other 2 sections. In addition, they are able to turn their heads, independently of the body.
These distinguish the Mantoidea from all other insects.
I also see no reason to break up the single family into 2 or more.
